I think all the names are of a similar ilk. Lydia, Juliet and Cora are my favourites. Perhaps Imogen, Clara or Phoebe might work?

Harvey3 · 24/03/2021 10:03

I love Anna and Lydia

AlexaShutUp · 24/03/2021 10:08

Anna is really beautiful. A simple but classic name. I am not keen on Annabel though.

Elizabeth, Juliet and Audrey are all quite nice. Lydia and Heather are just ok. I really don't like Eloise, Cora or Connie.

PandaFluff · 24/03/2021 10:19

Heather and Anna are my favourites.

SirVixofVixHall · 24/03/2021 10:24

Depends how much you care about trendy names that will date. All your DH’s choices are really trendy at the moment, whereas yours are rather more classic and ageless. I think Lydia and Eloise are getting more popular, out of yours, but the others are classics.
I love Anna /Annabel, Elizabeth and Juliet. All timeless and don’t pigeonhole into a decade or a class.

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 24/03/2021 13:53

Audrey and Connie my favourites by far! Also like Juliet and Lydia. Disagree strongly that your husband's names are 'trendy'. I'd say only Annabel and Cora are verging on trendy.

bridgetreilly · 24/03/2021 15:27

Annabel
Juliet
Audrey
Connie

Bruce2 · 24/03/2021 15:41

My favourites are

Annabel
Elizabeth
Juliet

Fnib · 24/03/2021 15:43

Anna and Connie are the names I would choose from those lists.

EvilOnion · 24/03/2021 15:49

Anna (not Annabelle) is my favourite.

Eloise, Connie and Elizabeth are nice.

I really dislike Cora - it's just a harsh sound.

MiscUser9823 · 24/03/2021 16:04

Anna

Flymetothestars · 24/03/2021 16:18

From your lists I love:

Anna (Annabel)
Elizabeth
Eloise
Lydia
Connie
Cora
Audrey

Favourite Audrey and Cora
Well done DH

Edenember · 24/03/2021 16:45

My favourites are Eloise, Elizabeth, Cora and Anna (although not keen on Annabel).

partyatthepalace · 24/03/2021 18:46

Really like Lydia and Constance (or Constanzia!) nn Connie.

Like Juliet. Don't mind Audrey. (both of these getting quite popular)

Others - Serena, Adela, Marianne, Lois, Cassia, Frances, Agnes, Honor

I'd get shot of Elizabeth + Anna - lovely but very popular, plus Eloise - quite popular and blurs with all the El names for girls. Cora and Heather - bit meh compared to the other names on your list.

MerryChristmasToYou · 24/03/2021 22:05

My favourites:
Anna (Annabel) - like. Prefer just Anna
Elizabeth - like a lot
Heather - like but not if it's said as Hevver
Eloise - nice but too long. Another Ellie
Lydia - nice but will be Lyds
Juliet - nice but will be Jools

DH likes:
Connie - like. short for Constance
Cora - too Downton
Audrey - too Corrie

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 24/03/2021 22:06

Of your/DH choices I like all except Annabel (although I like Anna), Heather and Connie. My faves in order are Juliet (elegant and very underused), followed by Anna (classic and international), then Lydia, Elizabeth, Cora, Audrey, Eloise.

theworks · 24/03/2021 22:25

Thanks all - so helpful! Good to know most people don't hate the list so think we're on the right track.

Will definitely get rid of Annabel and just go with Anna if that's what we choose... another couple of months to go back and forth and change our minds a hundred times 😊

Cora 😍

MrsBertBibby · 25/03/2021 08:27

Anna, by a country mile. Gorgeous name.

IllNeverLetGoJack · 25/03/2021 11:42

I love Elizabeth, Audrey and Connie.

I think, if you can't agree, Elizabeth with a more vintage nn might be a good compromise. But they really aren't miles apart. It isn't as if you love Jane and Lucy, while he loves Star and Apple Smile
