Juno

So this has become one of my favourites on a very long list for our baby girl due in June what are thoughts? I love the meaning

Juno as a girl's name is of Latin origin meaning "queen of heaven". In Roman mythology, Juno was the equivalent of Hera in classical mythology, and the protector of women and of marriage; hence June is known as the bridal month.

Yep cute 🥰

sal1223 · 23/03/2021 22:05

I retract that , not necessarily cute but I love it and think it's a strong girls name with lovely meaning - I would probably find hearing of a baby called Juno cute

AnxiousAnnie86 · 23/03/2021 22:06

@sal1223 I know what you mean, it does sound cute for a baby but also a really strong name!

Lush 😍

Diorissimo1985 · 23/03/2021 22:13

I don’t like it - bit try hard!
Also I know a few dogs called Juno, all named in the past year.

"Oh, Like the city in Alaska" Grin

I really like it as a name, just felt honour bound to quote the film!

Brownteddybear · 23/03/2021 22:27

Prefer June to Juno which sounds like a nickname.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/03/2021 22:33

Juno is lovely, very cool - and I think it has been long enough since the film it doesn't feel trendy anymore. I'd first think of the Goddess, then of the actress (Juno Temple).

AvaCallanach · 23/03/2021 22:34

The only problem with Juno is that in some accents it sounds like "do you know" which can be a pain especially if you have a "name" surname. I know a Juno who does and it's a bit confusing sometimes, someone says "name please?" and she says "Juno Martin" (not her real surname) and they go "No, who's he?"

I do like it on its own though.

partyatthepalace · 23/03/2021 23:53

Fabulous - cute but strong

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 24/03/2021 02:25

I like it - unusual without being odd.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 24/03/2021 06:45

Thanks all!!! I really really like it! Especially with her being born in June 😍 I thought more people would talk about the film, but like one poster said it's been a LONG time now x

Love it. One of my favourites

Drunkenmonkey · 25/03/2021 13:53

I have a friend with a Juno. The parents are film buffs and at first I did think of the film, but it isn't a bad association and it never even occurs to me now, it is just her name and she suits it.

DotDotDotDotDot · 25/03/2021 14:16

Juno is a great name, you should go for it. I also like Juniper (nn Juni) too.

Love love love Juno
