Really stuck on these 3! I’m finding it hard to decide so help would be greatly appreciated Smile

Congratulations on pg
Elisabeth yes I like it, you’ll inevitably and habitually have to correct spelling constantly saying it’s with an s not a z
Tabitha meh it’s a cats name.
Bethany I like this a lot, Bethan and Bethany are both good solid names

Dontyouwantme · 23/03/2021 13:00

I like Elizabeth but don’t like it with an S
I’d go for Bethany, I think that’s lovely

May2021Mummy · 23/03/2021 13:03

I like Tabitha best but Bethany is a close second I'm not a fan of Elisabeth spelt with an s

BiBabbles · 23/03/2021 13:54

All are lovely. I lean towards Bethany which alongside Bethia/Bithiah I think are really nice names.

mrsrobin · 23/03/2021 13:59

I love Tabitha, I would love to have a daughter named that. I have a friend called Tabbie. Yes, you could think of cats, but I don't with my friend. Even so, if you like cats, no problem, A lovely name!

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 23/03/2021 14:01

Hearing Tabbie, I’d expect a mottled fur four legged cat not an adult woman

idontlikealdi · 23/03/2021 14:02

Elisabeth is not for me, Elizabeth is fab.

Aren't they all diminutives of Elizabeth anyway so stick that on the birth certificate and see what comes out for a nn.

Ineedaneasteregg · 23/03/2021 14:05

Tabitha is a lovely name.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/03/2021 14:09

Elisabeth is so classic but I agree she will spend her life saying "with a S". If you are wanting that spelling so you can get the nn Elsie/Elsa, I think you could still call them that even with Elizabeth.

Bethany is okay, but I really love Tabitha - pretty, quirky cool (I don't think the cat thing's a problem - people say the same about Felix but that's still quite popular).

partyatthepalace · 23/03/2021 14:25

Well I love Tabitha! - have done ever since Bewitched was on at tea time when I got home from school. It’s quite fashionable but certainly not so I’d go for that.

Elisabeth is a lovely classic, but there are many of them - although lots of nns help make up for that. if you are in the UK I would use a z or it will be misspelt all the time.

Bethany I find meh and not distinguished compared to your other two.

partyatthepalace · 23/03/2021 14:26

I meant Tabitha is certainly not overused..

FayLivvie · 23/03/2021 14:45

Love Tabitha!

KirstenBlest · 23/03/2021 14:59

Elizabeth with a z unless you are from somewhere where it's more usual to spell it with an s.

Not keen on Tabitha or Bethany

Peachbubble · 23/03/2021 15:16

Tabitha 100%

Twizbe · 23/03/2021 15:25

Elisabeth / Elizabeth is a fab name (totally biased though) Bethany is derived from Elizabeth so you could use it as a nn.

I would say though, if you're down to 3, wait now for baby to arrive. One name might just fit her more.

I didn't know what I was having but went in with 3 girls names. My top name was Eleanor but when my DD was born it just didn't sit right. She just isn't an Eleanor. We went with our second choice which is just perfect for her.

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 23/03/2021 15:29

Not sure about Tabitha at all. Prefer Elizabeth with a Z - classic but a bit dull, though has good nn options. Not that keen on Bethany, but I do like the Welsh Bethan, or standalone Beth as names.

notalwaysalondoner · 23/03/2021 15:47

I prefer Bethany, Tabitha and Elisabeth in that order. If it was Elizabeth with a 'z' I'd probably say Elizabeth/Bethany, then Tabitha. All lovely though, just think alternative spelling of such a common name is asking for a frustrating time for your daughter.

ProcrastinationIsMySuperPower · 23/03/2021 15:59

Love Tabitha!

CeibaTree · 23/03/2021 16:23

Tabitha is a gorgeous name. Ignore the predictable 'it's a cat's name' comments - they are so boring and unimaginative!

Spied · 23/03/2021 16:26

Tabitha is lovely.
Elisabeth is ok-ish.
Bethany is horrible.

100% this
Blacktothepink · 23/03/2021 17:55

Love Tabitha
Like Elizabeth
Not a fan of Bethany

Marcipex · 23/03/2021 17:58

Elisabeth is my favourite by a long way.
I quite like Tabitha, not keen on Bethany.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 23/03/2021 18:00

Predictable, well yes because it is a pet cat name. That’s the immediate association. Pussy cat
Bit like Rex for a boy and then vehemently arguing it’s not a dog name, and don’t dare say it is
By all means call a baby Tabitha, nn tabbie and fight your corner protesting that it's not a cat name
Reassure yourself you’re soooo right, it’s not a cat name. Keep saying it.
And meanwhile everyone is thinking Tabbie?that’s a cat name

May2021Mummy · 23/03/2021 18:08

I don't know any cats called Tabitha but I know 3 little girls called Tabitha at the school I work at so apparently people in my area aren't hung up on a cat reference
