I think Joshua will be best. Jesse would be my favourite but I don't think it sounds right with James.
Not keen on Riley

Woodlandbelle · 21/03/2021 09:57

Joshua or Jack.
Don't like Jesse or Riley.

converseandjeans · 21/03/2021 09:59

Joshua or Jack go ok with James.
Don't like Riley.

Onlinedilema · 21/03/2021 10:05

Favourite I Jesse. Least favourite is Riley.

mrsalfstewart · 21/03/2021 10:07

Joshua is my favourite but I'm biased as I have a Joshua myself! Riley is least favourite.

thunderandsunshine01 · 21/03/2021 10:18

Favourite is Joshua, least favourite Riley... although not totally sure why everyone has such a strong aversion to this name Hmm ..for me, just not my cup of tea.

I don’t really love the whole “JJ” set up with your other options though.

LouLikesLollies · 21/03/2021 11:45

Thanks so much for all the feedback. Looks like Joshua is a clear winner!

i'm not keen on Joshua.

Joshua is lovely, Riley is awful.

LouLikesLollies · 21/03/2021 13:08

I don’t live in the UK and people here seem to like Riley! So funny that it’s so disliked in UK, but good to know thank you!

Favourite is Jesse. Love this!

Least favourite is Jack, which I really dislike (sorry).

NoMoreZigAndSharko · 21/03/2021 13:18

Joshua is fine, but a bit 90s imo. Jesse is a lot less dated and cooler to me.

Riley is fine. It gets butchered in some English accents tbh, which is probably why it isn't popular here.

MintLampShade · 21/03/2021 13:21

Jack is fav
Riley is least

ShipOfTheseus · 21/03/2021 13:22

Jack is the best name out of those.
Joshua is very dated. Jesse is the same type of name - dated in style.
Riley - no. It’s a surname.
But if you’re not in the U.K., the names may feel different to you.

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 21/03/2021 13:36

Jack is a classic name and would be my favourite. Jesse sounds a bit wet to me, like Tim.

Chilldonaldchill · 21/03/2021 13:36

Most favourite: Jack or Jesse.
Least favourite by far: Riley

Favourite is Jesse, least favourite is Riley.

BowiesJumper · 21/03/2021 14:16

Best - Joshua or Jack
Worst - Riley

PandaFluff · 21/03/2021 14:27

Joshua James

NoMoreZigAndSharko · 21/03/2021 14:41

I'm not sure Jack really is that classic...if you like super traditional names, then I think Jack is traditionally a nn for John. I love John!

I don't like Jack, which was everywhere about 15 years ago. Along with Harry and Charlie, which are also not classics really, as they are nns for Henry and Charlie. There was a phase where all three were everywhere for some reason.

All that said, nobody will bat an eyelid at Jack. So if that's what you want when picking a name, go with Jack!

Best Joshua worst Riley

Timeisavirtue · 21/03/2021 23:55

Fave is Jesse ( it’s top of my list too 😊)
Least is josh. Feel like it’s too common

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 22/03/2021 00:00

I have a Joshua James so obviously that's my first choice.

I don't like Jack or Jesse with James.
Riley James is nice though. Smile

CthulhuChristmas · 22/03/2021 00:20

I like Joshua best. Jesse and Jack are good names but I don't think either goes well with James as a middle name. Really don't like Riley as a first name.
