Victoria for me. I really don't like Veronica.

partyatthepalace · 21/03/2021 02:37

Victoria

Veronica sounds like a middle aged women having a rough life in 1974.

Tavannach · 21/03/2021 02:52

Victoria, although I do like Ronnie as a nn for Veronica.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 21/03/2021 02:57

Victoria is by far more classic sounding of the two to me - and has a very cool, classy nn in Vita (like Sackville-West), rather than more dated Vicky/Tori.

There's nothing especially wrong with Veronica imo (in fact I actually quite like it, since it reminds me of the heroine in the cult film "Heathers"), but I'm not sure if it will get shortened and I'm not keen on the any of the obvious nn's personally (Ronnie/Nicky?).

en0la · 21/03/2021 02:58

Veronica. One of the most inspirational women I know is called Veronica.

alexdgr8 · 21/03/2021 02:58

both are fine names.
Veronica is more popular in Catholic countries, as the woman who wiped the face of Jesus on the via dolorosa.
it's such a relief to find a query about not one but two perfectly good names on this board.
instead of ipsy-dipsy type stupid names, trying to be clever.
i have always like Veronica, i think it sounds harmonious, but both are equally acceptable, and good solid names that will go far.

LadyCluck · 21/03/2021 03:01

Victoria

coastergirl · 21/03/2021 03:12

I like both. I prefer Victoria as a full name, and love Tori as a nickname. But I work with a Veronica who is known as Vron. I like that. I like Ronnie too.

Synchrony · 21/03/2021 08:26

I like both. I know a young adult Veronica who is known as Vera and is lovely, so I associate it with her.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/03/2021 08:32

Victoria is gorgeous. Veronica makes me think of verrucas

CoddledAsAMommet · 21/03/2021 08:33

Do you prefer Ronnie or Vicky? Because that's what they'll become.

Littlepaws18 · 21/03/2021 08:46

Victoria every time! Vik fir short or Vikki... I am bias though! Classic name, not many people called it x

Veronica reminds me of verucca

Jalapinot · 21/03/2021 08:47

How about Vanessa?

Ellmau · 21/03/2021 11:21

Victoria.

Or what about Verena?

Lotsachocolateplease · 21/03/2021 11:34

Victoria
I am slightly biased though Smile

LookAtWhatYouCouldHaveWon · 21/03/2021 11:38

Honestly? Neither.

However I love Verity.

TeckanandMultra · 21/03/2021 12:59

Victoria gives the horrific nicknames Vicky and Tori.

Veronica is a harried old barmaid whose life didn't turn out how she'd hoped.

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 21/03/2021 13:22

I'm not that keen on either really, although j do quite like Ronni(e) as a nn for Veronica - like Ronni Ancona. I also have a bit of a soft spot for Vera at the moment and think it's due a comeback.

TheSmallAssassin · 21/03/2021 13:24

I love Veronica, so pretty. And I do like flower names.

TheSmallAssassin · 21/03/2021 13:29

Veronica is also in our family, where it gets shortened to V/Vee. Though Nica is also nice.

Vomadetroit · 21/03/2021 13:49

Veronica

polkadotpixie · 21/03/2021 13:58

Veronica but I prefer Verity

Thedogscollar · 21/03/2021 14:01

Not for me too well used. What about Vivienne I think that sounds beautiful. Not Viv tho.

Wanel · 21/03/2021 14:13

Veronica sounds like a middle aged women having a rough life in 1974.

Happenchance · 21/03/2021 14:42

I don't like either but I like Veronique
