Allegra as a middle name

We are wanting something a little unusual and wondering what people’s thoughts are on the name Allegra, as a middle name only...

(Yes it’s an allergy brand in the US apparently but I’m in UK and never heard of it. Yes the AllegrO is an old car...)

I just can’t shift it from the list and partner starting to like it too!

Would love opinions? Xx

There is a car the opel allegra, but if you love it then use it, Byrons daughter was called Allegra.

MiniTheMinx · 16/03/2021 08:42

I like it

Number3BigCupOfTea · 16/03/2021 08:44

I love it. We used to have the car, it was an Austin Allegra I believe, but car names can be lovely, and a good source of inspiration.

Vanessa Feltz daughter is called Allegra

Usagi12 · 16/03/2021 09:16

Sorry I just think of the car when I hear it but that may be my age 😂

Number3BigCupOfTea · 16/03/2021 09:33

Clio, Zoe, Carina, Meganne.....

SJaneS49 · 16/03/2021 09:40

It’s nice - at the end of the day it’s only a second name

MiniTheMinx · 16/03/2021 09:41

Is it originally Italian meaning cheerful.....seems to be.

Makes more sense to have a cheerful daughter than a cheerful car.

My favourite car would be a 70s Ford Mustang......my son is not called Mustang, but then the name is only synonymous with the car!

I think the Austin car was Allegro not allegra?

SJaneS49 · 16/03/2021 09:49

It was.

croft85 · 16/03/2021 09:54

Thanks everyone - as said in my OP it’s the car that’s the link - it’s the AllegrO I knew of but there seems to be a Vauxhall car called Allegra now 🤣

I really like it too. But we couldn't use it as my husband is Canadian and he couldn't disassociate it from the allergy medication!

SJaneS49 · 16/03/2021 09:58

Seriously, I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s a very nice name and the reality is that she’ll need to say it aloud only a few times and use it on forms. It’s not something to sweat!

Orphlids · 16/03/2021 09:59

It’s a fantastic name, go for it! So good it’s almost a shame it won’t be the first name. But I’m sure you’ve got something else just as wonderful lined up for that.

Mistyminion · 16/03/2021 10:28

I really like it. I'd use it as a first name.

Ellmau · 16/03/2021 19:28

It's a lovely name.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/03/2021 21:53

Gorgeous, but then I personally think it's fine as a first name too. I think of Bryon's tragic daughter or the music link, the car wouldn't occur to me.
