Continuing the theme from my last thread but this time for the meaning of “love”. Trying to find a name that has the meaning that we like - it’s the most important to us , thanks!! :)

@mathanxiety

Alannah indirectly means love. It's a term of endearment.
Always thought it was "A leanbh" as in child.

Cariad (love, noun) is used regularly as a term of endearment in Welsh - don't name your baby that.

I have a friend called Cari (pronounced 'Carrie' but with a heavier 'r') and a play on 'Caru' (same pronunciation) meaning to love.

Dwynwen is our patron saint of love in Wales 🥰

Cara is nice - it means dear/darling.
Mary means bitter, and not love.
Zoe means life- it’s the Greek form of Eve. Nothing to do with love.

Acushla means darling/pulse

@cornishmumofone and @MrsCalypsoGrant

I don't line it with z, much prefer the softer Kerensa.
