What’s your thoughts on Naomi? And do you have any middle name suggestions please?

Ds's friend gets Nomes.. Not good..

I think it's a lovely name, I would have liked to have used it but it was DH's significant ex's name and he felt uncomfortable. I would have liked Naomi Rose or Naomi Rebecca.

I always liked it but I worked with one who spent her life correcting people from Nye-omi to Nay-omi. Would that bother you?

I don’t much like it - don’t like the Nay sound at the front. But many do and it’s quite unusual right now.

A friend at school pointed out it's 'I moan' backwards and I can never unsee it.

While not my taste personally (because I rarely like the sound of names that end in an "ee" sound), I can't really think of anything to especially dislike about Naomi - it's underused yet well known, and not too dated or cutesy.

Maybe look at the top 100 and choice a more popular name as a middle? Alternatively you could go classic - Elizabeth, Alice, Sarah, Isabel, Laura, Catherine, Charlotte, Emma, Anna etc

"My" Naomi is called Nomes by some of her closest friends and is perfectly happy with it 🤷‍♀️ I love the name Naomi. Straightforward, classic, timeless.

I’m a Naomi Alexandra and love my name. You will get a lot of variations on pronunciation from other people though (I prefer Nay-oh-me, can live with Nie-oh-me and can’t stand Nayyyyyy-oh-mayyyy) a surprisingly high number of people haven’t a clue how to spell it either.

I love it. It was my first choice for DD but she just didn't suit it. Its back on the list for DC2

Doesn't it traditionally have a different vowel? Actually just googled. It had one of these en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shva which is cool.

I’ve never met a horrible Naomi, a lot of them tend to be Christian and be Naomi Ruth or Naomi Elizabeth. My best friend is one and would get “nay” if you shorten it. It’s pretty, but will age well and she won’t be one of 5 in her class. Go for it!
