What's "different" depends on your area and it's unlikely that you'll find a name that's never used without being totally obscure or made up!

Are there any names you particularly like but wouldn't use for whatever reason, just for a rough guide?

My friend just called her little boy miles... I've not heard it for ages and I love it

It depends on your style - traditional names like John, Robert, Peter, Phillip, Hugh, Stephen, Edmund, Christopher, Andrew etc aren't very popular anymore.

Or you can look to other countries for names more popular abroad than here - Xavier, Elias, Maxim, Lucian, Jared, Nathaniel, Ivo, Magnus etc.

Or you can go classical (Greek/Roman) or literary but not used that often - Orion, Caspian, Lysander, Atticus, Ferdinand, Corin, August etc
