Ann-Marie is nicer

partyatthepalace · 08/03/2021 21:51

I think fine but best as two names Anna Maria, same as you’d write Anne Marie or Anna Marie

PotteringAlong · 08/03/2021 21:54

Yes

Ellmau · 08/03/2021 23:13

I like it.

Pantsomime · 08/03/2021 23:16

Lovely name

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 08/03/2021 23:21

Are you in the UK? It sounds very Spanish to me, if that matters? Anna with the middle name Maria seems more typically English/British to me. But Annamaria isn't bad, just depends on whether you want her name to stand out more or not.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 08/03/2021 23:21

BTW either way, I think it's a pretty name.

marly11 · 08/03/2021 23:33

No! It's the wife of Samuel Whiskers from Beatrix Potte's tale - she's a rat! 😲

Allthebears · 08/03/2021 23:38

Samuel Whiskers was the first thing I thought of too!

It is a pretty name. I prefer Anne-Marie though.

SenecaTrewe · 08/03/2021 23:39

It's a bit menemenenennenma.

VikingLady · 08/03/2021 23:46

It's lovely, but probably hard for a child to learn to spell. I'd go for it though.

ILoveStickers · 09/03/2021 06:25

Hard to learn to spell? Why?

It's very nice. I prefer Marianne or Marianna, but Annamaria is lovely.

HelenaJustina · 09/03/2021 06:26

I like it, I know a lovely Spanish girl with the name.

LynetteScavo · 09/03/2021 06:33

It's not too much, but I think it'll be shortened to Anna by friends (no bad thing)

Silurian · 09/03/2021 06:52

Not for me. It sounds like Spanish Armada galleon, while also being quite frilly.

joystir59 · 09/03/2021 06:54

Too much, but I love Annamarie.

joystir59 · 09/03/2021 06:55

Anne-Marie is lovely.

justanotherneighinparadise · 09/03/2021 06:57

I like it!

Zarinea · 09/03/2021 07:37

Love it, and far far prefer it to Anna Maria or Anna- Marie ect, where the second half will inevitably get dropped leaving you with lovely but a bit dull Anna.

Soubriquet · 09/03/2021 07:40

Oh that’s creepy....this was literally the name my parents were going to name me

daisypond · 09/03/2021 07:43

I like it. It’s quite frilly but nice. I know a couple of them - both with non-U.K. roots.

Afishcalledwonderful · 09/03/2021 07:49

What @marly11 said!

Nell96 · 09/03/2021 08:17

Not one I'd choose, but it's fine - nothing wrong with it. I'd probably just go for Maria or Marie.

Hailtomyteeth · 09/03/2021 08:48

Anna-Maria is a lovely name. Sadly, I know one and she is a very strange person and might, I think, have had a very hard life.

trickyex · 09/03/2021 14:08

I think a 5 syllable name is a bit of a mouthful, nice as it is.
Anna or Maria alone are a bit easier to say/spell/read out in class etc..
