Alice! I like Iris, but it's faddy (I know about 5 under 5s) compared to classic Alice.

Iris, but with the caveat that everyone seems to love it at the moment and I can see it getting super popular. It’s not an unusual, ‘under the radar’ choice any more.

Really like Alice too (it’s one of DD’s middle names) but as a first name it’s too plain for my taste.

Ooh difficult - Iris stands out more and is my fave of the two (as it's both nature linked and mythological) but it is more subject to fashion whims. Where as Alice is so classic and timeless that like Elizabeth it's kind of one of those "can't go wrong" names. Sorry that's no help!

Iris has been top of my list for several years as goddess of the rainbow (couple of miscarriages down) and one of my favourite flowers

Alice, iris sounds too similar to ISIS to me.
I do know of an Isis. A lovely name, but of course now ruined. Poor girl.
