@darkstarryhymn thank you for clarifying, I thought you must hate the name Finley so much you equated it with naming a child Donkey 😂

Yes 2 lovely names

Ivy is a perfect choice

sarah13xx · 08/03/2021 16:03

Yes, I love Ivy. I’m a teacher and it’s not a name you hear very often but there was a lovely little girl called Ivy in my class last year. They go nice together x

I love the name Ivy and it definitely goes with Finley

Congratulations

PatchworkElmer · 08/03/2021 16:11

It’s lovely and goes well with Finley. I think it’s increasing in popularity but still quite unusual. That said, DS has 2 in his nursery class!

Lovely name. Not sure on Donkey though. Wink

Gemma2019 · 08/03/2021 16:14

Ivy is beautiful and it goes well with Finley.

Donkey has made my day 😂

IHaveBrilloHair · 08/03/2021 16:15

I'm not keen on Ivy but I love Donkey Grin

surreymum89 · 08/03/2021 16:15

Yes I love Ivy , was considering it if we were having another girl this time but having a boy.

DotDotDotDotDot · 08/03/2021 17:28

Ivy is nice and goes well with your sons name. I also love Iris which is similar but has a beautiful meaning.

babynamelover · 08/03/2021 17:31

I think they are quite rhymy together and that would probably put me off.
I find Ivy quite harsh sounding too.

HeadlessGummyBears · 08/03/2021 20:23

I think they’re lovely together

cretelover · 08/03/2021 20:34

Lovely name, I really like it.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 08/03/2021 23:04

I'm not keen personally - while both names are quite trendy, Ivy also has that "old lady" feel that Finley doesn't. I would suggest something similar sounding to Ivy like Ava or Isla - also trendy but not so old-fashioned and they also don't end in the same "ee" sound as Finley (which makes them less matchy.)

Nell96 · 09/03/2021 07:45

I like it and think it goes well. I also like Iris, if you're into nature names beginning with I.

Bedsheets4knickers · 09/03/2021 08:28

I love Ivy , My friend has her daughters spelt as Ivie .

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/03/2021 12:01

Crikey if you do use it, do not spell it Ivie.

MondeoFan · 09/03/2021 12:04

Ivy is fab and not Ivie that's just weird.

Sounds as if you've found the perfect match.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/03/2021 11:08

In sound they go but not in vibe. Ivy fashioned and chic. Finley is modern. However the fact that they "don't go" doesn't matter. They're individuals. There could be a few reasons why names "don't go"
Eg Mum names the boys and likes modern names.
Dad names the girls and likes old fashioned names.
You like a huge genre of names.
There's been a big gap and your naming style has changed.

Moo31 · 13/03/2021 10:13

We have a Finn and Ivy is on our list for DC2! Lovely choices:)
