What do you think of the name Azure for a girl? I adore Azzurra but I'm not Italian so that's out.

I think Azura is better than Azure

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/03/2021 01:03

You don't have to be Italian. I know an Ariadne born in Scotland. Mum just heard the name on TV and liked it.

23PissOffAvenueWF · 08/03/2021 01:07

It’s a beautiful colour. Wouldn’t use it as a person’s name.

Agree with this - I've heard of Azura as a given name (this simpler spelling, I think it's very pretty), but Azure sounds slightly more harsh imo.
DavidsSchitt · 08/03/2021 11:39

It's hard to say so no

Violetlavenders · 08/03/2021 15:30

Azure sounds beautiful in French.

Not sure it sounds quite as nice in English though.

sonnysunshine · 08/03/2021 15:32

It sounds a bit like
"As yer were saying" in my accent 😁

Bubbinsmakesthree · 08/03/2021 15:34

In principle I think it is a lovely name BUT thanks to the Microsoft product of the same name it would be like calling a baby Excel Sad

Are you French? Because if you’re not, then what’s the difference with using Azzurra and not being Italian? If you are neither French or Italian, you might as well use Azzurra, the name you really like.
Sexnotgender · 08/03/2021 15:40

It’s not my taste but it’s not awful.

changingnames786 · 08/03/2021 15:42

It just makes me think of Microsoft.

user1493494961 · 08/03/2021 16:48

Not to my taste, could be tricky to say depending on accents, agree with pp, could end up as As yer.

SeanChailleach · 08/03/2021 17:01

In Italian I believe Azzurra would typically be said "Ad-dzurra"?

babynamelover · 08/03/2021 17:37

I met an Azusa the other day that's lovely.

partyatthepalace · 09/03/2021 16:00

It’s hard to say and will end up being pronounced as As-ya in a lot of accents, which probably isn’t what you want.

Nell96 · 09/03/2021 16:46

I'm not sure it really works as a name. How about Azalea?

Woebegonad · 09/03/2021 16:49

Sounds like an aftershave.

Boopear · 09/03/2021 17:40

Microsoft..

AirportLounge · 09/03/2021 17:42

Alesha Dixon’s DD is called Azura.

I prefer Azure, but they’re both beautiful.

LouiseTrees · 09/03/2021 23:03
