What do you think of the name Josephine? And do you think you can have a josie if you have a Lucy??

I love Josephine, and yes Lucy and Josie are fine together.

Monicuddle · 07/03/2021 14:42

Love it. Josie and Lucy a bit of a mouthful though. How about Jojo, Sephy, or just Jo?

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 07/03/2021 14:46

Gorgeous name, although I personally prefer the Effie or Sephy nn to Josie, I don't think Josie and Lucy sound odd together.

Furrybutts · 07/03/2021 14:51

I wanted to shorten my DD4 ( now 20) to Fifi. So thought about Josephine.

Lovely name. One of my favourites at the moment.

Yes, Josie is different enough from Lucy, especially as you have the full name for when you prefer to use it.

partyatthepalace · 07/03/2021 15:08

It’s a nice underused name, and Josie and Lucy are fine.

coffeeandbiscuittime · 07/03/2021 15:10

Josephine, Josette, Josie. Loads of lovely names that all go with Lucy.

fourquenelles · 07/03/2021 15:11

Hate hate hate the abbreviation Josie (maybe because I am of the Josie and the Pussycats generation) but love the shorter Jo.

PS I am a Josephine

IHateCoronavirus · 07/03/2021 15:11

There was a roadside cafe in Ireland called Josephine’s kitchen, which used to sell the best cooked breakfast with black and white puddings. It was lush.
For that reason alone I’d go for it! Yum!

SummerInSun · 07/03/2021 15:25

Lovely name. But also prefer Jo or Josette to Josie as a nickname.

MuggleStudiesResearchProject · 07/03/2021 15:29

Especially love Effie as a nn but Josie is nice too.

Porridgeoat · 07/03/2021 15:30

Beautiful name

toastofthetown · 07/03/2021 15:33

I like Josephine and I don't think Josie and Lucy are a problem. I also like Posy and Sephy as nicknames. I will say that almost every adult Josephine I know has been Jo, which would rule the name out totally for me

Quercus3 · 07/03/2021 19:05

Love it! And it's lovely with Lucy

MuddleMoo · 07/03/2021 20:36

Ooh nice!

EileenGC · 07/03/2021 20:40

I hate nicknames in general, but Josie is one of a few exceptions. It helps that I know a couple of extremely cute baby Josies! I also really like Jo as an adult nn, and Josephine for the full name is beautiful.

zigaziga · 07/03/2021 20:52

Josephine is a beautiful name.

BobGalaxy · 07/03/2021 20:56

Love both names! Both sound fine with Lucy, I think.

Pinkpeaches22 · 07/03/2021 22:42

Thanks all!

Love it, but I would have Fina as a nickname (I knew a lovely German Josephine who was Fine, pronounced Fina)

ParkheadParadise · 07/03/2021 22:46

Yes, I like it
My sister's name

Tambourina · 07/03/2021 23:34

Love Josephine

PainterInPeril · 08/03/2021 00:03

Josephine is one of my favourites at the moment, with the nicknames Jo or Joey.

RoseMartha · 08/03/2021 00:05

I like it and works well with Lucy

DarcyJack · 08/03/2021 00:07

Yes this is a great name! Works well with Lucy too.
