Baby is due in May, gender unknown but pretty sold on a boys name. Please could I have your opinions on these names for a girl;

.Effie
.Marlow
.Noa

Really like Marlow but not too keen on it being shortened to Marlie/Marley.

TIA

I'd choose Noa, love that name and I don't know of any yet...

lovablequalities · 06/03/2021 18:30

Effie

I love that.

mamawithfive · 06/03/2021 18:30

I quite like all 3, but think I prefer Noa.

Caspianberg · 06/03/2021 18:33

Noa

Ithinkhedidit · 06/03/2021 18:34

I love Effie. Noa is cute too. I'm not sure about Marlow - seems a different kind of vibe to the other two. If you love it, though, go for it!

MySaladDays75 · 06/03/2021 18:35

Effie!

chillied · 06/03/2021 18:41

Noa sounds like a boys name Noah

Marlow - is that a name? Also sounds like a boys name.

Which leaves Effie, which I'm not a fan of...

MojoJojo71 · 06/03/2021 18:42

Marlow, gorgeous name.

I’m not keen on Noa, it’s too close to Noah for me.

Effie is one of those names that I’d think was a nickname and short for something else (?josephine?)

GinasGirl · 06/03/2021 18:44

I live near Marlow so less keen on that one. I love Noa and I have a fantastic friend called Effie so that's my favourite.

Whatsyourflava · 06/03/2021 18:45

Noa but I love all 3

CeibaTree · 06/03/2021 18:51

Marlow and Noa are lovely. Effie is just a bit of a try hard name to me along the same lines as Esme.

partyatthepalace · 06/03/2021 18:53

Effie if you can make it short for something, it’s too much of a nn to be a proper name - it’s usually short for Elizabeth or Euphemia.

Otherwise Marlow. You can never control what nns she’ll use when she’s older though.

Noa getting confused with Noah would just be too annoying I think.

Jelly4444 · 06/03/2021 18:55

Noa is lovely! Not keen on Effie or Marlow.

KindnessCrusader · 06/03/2021 18:56

Noa is beautiful. I live near Marlow. Beautiful place. But the name would be shortened to Marley and I'm not sure about that!

Druidlookingidiot · 06/03/2021 18:57

Awful names, sorry.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 06/03/2021 18:59

@RouxLou Noa is my absolute favourite name ever! I really want to name our little girl it but husband says no :( 💯 what I would choose xx

Dayafterday · 06/03/2021 19:00

Noa

EileenGC · 06/03/2021 19:00

Noa is gorgeous!

IWouldBeSuperb · 06/03/2021 19:01

I think Effie is pretty popular at the moment - I know of three recently!

So depends if that would bother you?

CatBiscuits · 06/03/2021 19:05

I like Noa best.

Effie sounds like a nickname rather than a 'proper' name and Marlow just reminds me of the town or that detective!

Laquila · 06/03/2021 19:06

I quite like them all but I think Noa is my preference. I think of Effie as short for Ephigenia, which is pretty ballsy nowadays. It might be hard to avoid the Marley/Marls nicknames for Marlowe.

Twisique · 06/03/2021 19:20

Effie and Marlow.
Noa is nice but its too close to the popular Noah.

Suggestions: Mallory and Etta

Agree with a pp, awful names.

FASDE1517 · 06/03/2021 19:43

I love Effie

KirstenBlest · 06/03/2021 19:57

.Effie - Effin awful
.Marlow - nice town by the Thames
.Noa - people will think you really wanted a boy
