Final three :)

Baby (DC1) will be here in three weeks and we’ve settled on these four names:
Grace
Lucy
Anna
Camilla

Lucy Elizabeth
Grace Eliza
Anna Esme
Camilla Jane

Tough choice!

I know they’re all popular and in the top 50/60.

I don’t mind too much about popularity, but wondered if Grace was actually that popular as a FN (I know all girls have it as a MN).

Anna strikes me as simple and elegant, timeless. Lucy is timeless too but with a less formal and more cheerful feel. Camilla is a bit of an outlier, I just like the sound of it and don’t mind the royal associations. I’ve always loved Grace with the caveat that it might be too common.

Anyways, would love to hear your thoughts, thanks a lot! Flowers

I like Camila best (but prefer this spelling).

Anna feels a bit too classic, overused and lacking personality. I've always hated the sound of the name Grace though I couldn't tell you why.

Lucy isn't bad (I like the meaning) but I do prefer Lucia as it feels more "complete", Lucy feels a bit nicknamey to me.

All very subjective of course !

Tal45 · 04/03/2021 17:30

I like Grace best, but I'd go Grace Elizabeth.

Twisique · 04/03/2021 17:37

Lucy Elizabeth is lovely, but I actually like Anna Elizabeth and Camilla Elizabeth as well!

Janedamaz · 04/03/2021 17:44

MN can change, not attached to any in particular so thanks for the latest comments!

I'd choose Lucy Elizabeth, but also like Camilla.

scubadub · 04/03/2021 17:47

Can I throw another into the mix
Anna Grace?

PatsyStone39 · 04/03/2021 17:48

Lucy Elizabeth is the most striking, IMO. It's beautiful.

Grace bores me to tears - sorry! I just know so many little girls with it as a first or middle name.

pilates · 04/03/2021 17:48

Grace Elizabeth

Janedamaz · 04/03/2021 17:50

@scubadub this is actually...stunning thanks!

@PatsyStone39 I’m starting to think I spent way too much time in lockdown...I don’t know any little Grace or adult Grace! I know plenty of Anna and Lucy though. I know the data says you’re right, I just don’t know where they all are! I live in Greater London btw

I love the name Grace! But Anna Grace really does sound beautiful
Floralnomad · 04/03/2021 17:54

Aside from Camilla they are all a bit meh so I’d go with that . Had you considered Cressida ?

IsolaPribby · 04/03/2021 17:55

I have a Lucy Elizabeth, so totally biased to that!

KirstenBlest · 04/03/2021 17:58

Lucy Elizabeth - lovely
Grace Eliza - not keen on either
Anna Esme - combination doesn't flow, not keen on Esme
Camilla Jane - both nice but made me think of Calamity Jane

I'm from the age group where every girl was Something Anne or Something Jane so I'm not keen on them as middle names. Grace has become a filler middle name too

I'd go for Anna Elizabeth or Lucy Elizabeth

Yellowbowlbanana · 04/03/2021 18:00

Anna Grace
Beautiful classic name. I love the name Anna.

Sunnyday321 · 04/03/2021 18:04

I love the name Grace and would have called my dd it.
The only thing that put me off was the worry that ' Grace ' would grow up to be a 6ft , solid looking , dm wearing woman who hated her name.

WhirlingGerbil · 04/03/2021 18:04

When we had our son, we'd agreed his name months in advance. I almost ended up changing it. Months after we registered his birth, it didn't feel right. He did "grow into" it eventually (his eyes completely changed colour at 2 for one thing), and I don't regret the name we chose now, but for months I was convinced we'd got it wrong.

This time we picked 3 for DD. She didn't look like any of them so we chose something completely different.

babynamelover · 04/03/2021 18:10

I vote for Anna, my name 😁.
I think a longer middle flows better mine is Michelle I also like Margaret, Madeleine and Lucinda.

ParisJeTAime · 04/03/2021 18:41

My favourites are Lucy Elizabeth and Camilla Jane.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 04/03/2021 18:49

I like Camilla Grace as you've still got your favourite Grace in there.

GeorgeandHarold66 · 04/03/2021 19:11

I love both Anna Grace and Grace Elizabeth that have been suggested here.

Also I quite like Elizabeth and it's a very versatile name that can become many others later on if you or she want it to.

LouNatics · 04/03/2021 19:17

I like Anna as a name but I went to school with two Annas who marked all their work with Anna B and Anna L - I’m sure you can see the problem with the latter. Now as an adult I have a friend who is another Anna L but in fact her last name is Lay (changed on marriage). I mean, she takes it in good humour but I would never have ever considered changing my name to that if I had been her.

So I’d steer clear unfortunately.

If you love Grace, I’d have Grace, Grace Eliza or Grace Elizabeth.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 04/03/2021 19:22

Anna Esme is my favourite - a very classic, lovely, international first name with a more popular but slightly quirky sounding middle.

Camilla Jane is my second choice - I love the elegant Camilla although I recognise it's more marmite (so less "safe" than Anna). Jane is also very classic and makes a refreshing change now to the usual similar 1 syllable middles (Grace, Rose or May).

Lucy is too cutesy for me and Grace (even in the first name spot) a bit popular for my taste, sorry. Elizabeth is lovely, although I find similar Eliza a bit trendy sounding at the moment (although it doesn't really matter as a middle name).

Thanks a lot @IamnotwhouthinkIam :)
