For me: Daisy Charlotte, then Ella Daisy - both are lovely, but Ella does feel a bit nicknamey to me as I've not yet met anyone who has it as a full name and I think Daisy Charlotte runs slightly more smoothly together. Either choice is great though.

KirstenBlest · 04/03/2021 14:10

Ella has been overused and is a bit nothingy.

Daisy a bit too milkmaidy for me to choose it but there are a few adult Daisys (Daisy May Cooper, Daisy Ridley etc) around so it should be OK.

I prefer Alice and Charlotte, but not my baby.

Starsandglitter · 04/03/2021 14:12

I would go with Daisy and either middle name is lovely too x

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 04/03/2021 14:18

Of the two, Ella Daisy. Or if you are considering Charlotte Daisy or Alice Daisy, then I like those even better (more classic).

Daisy is fun but sounds very cutesy to me, so I much prefer it as a middle name for an adult (she can still always call herself Daisy if she wants to!)

BoredatHome321 · 04/03/2021 14:22

I'm a Daisy and have never understood the dislike for the name on here for being too "twee". I'm definitely not a girly girl or a young child and love the name, it's not too common and I like it. Maybe I'm bias though Wink

Biscuitsneeded · 04/03/2021 14:22

With Arthur I would have Daisy. Because if she's Ella they will always be referred to as Arthur'n'Ella which sounds like a disease, or the other way round people will insert a random R in order to say EllaRan'Arthur.

LittleTiger007 · 04/03/2021 14:31

Daisy Charlotte sounds good to me. A Daisy can definitely be a strong, powerful woman.

Chilldonaldchill · 04/03/2021 14:32

Daisy Alice is lovely.
Daisy Ella or Daisy Charlotte are also great.
I much prefer Daisy (sassy, fun and don't listen to anyone who tells you that an adult Daisy won't be taken seriously) to Ella (overused, boring, not at all stylish).

AlexaShutUp · 04/03/2021 14:36

Sorry, I don't like the name Daisy. It's fine as a nickname, but I wouldn't ever choose it as a proper name.

Consequently, out of your choices, I'd go for Ella Daisy. I'm not that keen on Ella, but it's much better as a first name than Daisy imo.

My favourite of all your names is Alice. Love that, and I'd use it as a first choice. It's a pity your dh doesn't like it.

AlexaShutUp · 04/03/2021 14:37

Totally agree that Ella is over used btw. I still think it's better than Daisy, though.

HalfTermHalfTerm · 04/03/2021 14:45

I like Daisy Alice best out of the two, but I prefer Alice Daisy!

Ella is nice, but it is very popular. I’m not keen on Charlotte but I don’t really know why. It’s very inoffensive, I think I just find it a bit boring Blush

Daisy is a very ‘sweet’ name, but I think it works better for an adult woman than a lot of other names that end with an ‘ee’ sound.

LiJo2015 · 04/03/2021 14:47

Daisy Alice

BikeRunSki · 04/03/2021 14:47

Ella Daisy

I don’t really like Daisy as a first name.

BallsToYouSue · 04/03/2021 14:52

Daisy Alice by a million miles Smile. Lovely!

Ella just sounds like someone regurgitating something to me (sorry). It was nice for about five minutes when it was fresh and reminded me of Fitzgerald, but now, it really isn't to my taste and it's a bit done to death as well. Popularity alone doesn't bother me usually though.

M0rT · 04/03/2021 15:02

Daisy Charlotte if your surname begins with W.
I have a name that was as common as Ella is now for my age group in school.
Always getting your full name, or getting in trouble for not responding when you think a teacher is calling on a different "Ella" or responding when they don't want you is a bit of a pain.
I don't hate my name or anything but would have liked something a bit less common.
I still have friends that call be my full name because they have a few "Ellas" in their life.
It feels a bit distancing although I know it's only for practicality.

Quercus3 · 04/03/2021 15:32

Daisy Alice is lovely. And you're right, there's loads of adult Daisys that could never be described as twee, it hasn't slowed them down!

buntingandstarcharts · 04/03/2021 15:33

@SleepingStandingUp I wasn't insinuating that her name will define her personality/career/life choices but I certainly wouldn't want her to dislike her own name because she feels it is too suited to one type of person. And I think that is fair enough.

I don't see the reason to worry about Ella being called Ellie. They are both 2 syllables in length and both very similar so it seems unlikely anyone would do that.

Ella just makes me think of She/Her pronoun.

Daisy is lovely Alice even better.

DramaAlpaca · 04/03/2021 15:44

Ella is very bland and would blend in with all the other names beginning with 'El' that are so popular these days.

I'm not mad on Daisy, but it's a better choice and goes much better with Arthur. Daisy Charlotte would be my pick.

Daisy does strike me as a bit cutesy, but having once had a very disobedient feisty dog called Daisy (a rescue dog that arrived with the name) I certainly see it as a strong name Grin

SleepingStandingUp · 04/03/2021 16:05

And my point was that when you break it down, it doesn't affect all the formative experiences that lead to the latter ones. She won't get to 16 with parents who raised her to be anything she wants and decide she can't because her name is wrong. So pick the name you love and she will grow into the adult you help her grow into and she'll define that name in her own way. She's just as likely to dislike Alice as Diary or Charlotte or Lylibellarosie

MuddleMoo · 04/03/2021 16:05

Daisy Alice

SleepingStandingUp · 04/03/2021 16:06

Also Daisy in Shield. I mean, literally you can't get more kickass. She was Skye in the original series, also quote girlie.

DragonPoop · 04/03/2021 16:07

Daisy Charlotte or Daisy Alice!

aug2ftm · 04/03/2021 16:14

Daisy Alice! Lovely name and I say don’t think about future careers at the moment - she can do what she likes no matter her name!

Whatsyourflava · 04/03/2021 16:34

Both are really lovely names for baby and adult woman
