Also any middle name suggestions. I literally have no clue what to name this baby since husband doesn't like my initial choice.

I like it; it's a strong name that's both masculine and beautiful, imo. 'Judah' was on my shortlist.

Jude Alexander
Jude Byron
Jude Coen
Jude Caleb

Nice and I don't hear it that often.

MorriseysGladioli · 03/03/2021 02:05

I absolutely love it!

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/03/2021 02:06

I love all J boy names. Including Jude.

I think middle names should have meaning. Any family names you like?

EmmaGrundyForPM · 03/03/2021 02:07

I love it.

grassisjeweled · 03/03/2021 02:18

Nice

WithLoveFromMyselfToYourself · 03/03/2021 02:25

It's lovely, but too sad in its association with Jude the Obscure for me.

GooGoo52 · 03/03/2021 02:25

I love it. Also like Jude Alexander.

Smileandtheworldsmileswithyou · 03/03/2021 02:33

Love it

Laila747 · 03/03/2021 02:33

I LOVE it. It has always been my favourite boys name (unfortunately not OH though) so I never got a Jude of my own Sad

I am now eagerly awaiting the day OH agrees to having a Golden Retriever so I can call him Jude.

I love it. My MIL ca!led her sixth child this. Jude, patron saint of lost causes

Cowgran · 03/03/2021 02:37

Love it.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 03/03/2021 02:37

It's loved on Mumsnet, but I'm not keen at all, sorry. Reminds me of Judas Iscariot, as well as the depressing Hardy novel and I dislike the sound (possibly because it rhymes with rude?).

But it's a popular name and other people probably think of the Beatles song or Jude Law so I think it's perfectly useable (just not my taste).

I'd chose a multi-syllable, fairly classic middle name with Jude - Joseph or Jacob (would give you the nn cute JJ), Adam, Daniel, William, Thomas, Alexander, Henry, Samuel, Benjamin, Gabriel, Frederick, Isaac etc

normalnormas · 03/03/2021 04:08

I love it

MuddleMoo · 03/03/2021 05:58

Its nice but they might get Hey Jude sung at them a bit.

IWantMyHoney · 03/03/2021 06:20

I love Jude. Would have used it too but it sounds ridiculous with our surname.
I know one age 11, he's a lovely young man.

Frazzlefrazle · 03/03/2021 06:29

My daughter has a little boy in her class with this name it's really lovely however she loves the song hey jude so she sings it to him quite a bit but he doesn't seem to mind. They are 7 though so that may change...

Tibtab · 03/03/2021 06:30

It’s nice, I know 2 little boys called this.

cds5163 · 03/03/2021 08:35

Thanks for the replies! I love judah but my 2nd is named noah and i feel like that would be a bit much. I will most definitely choose a multi syllable, thanks for those suggestions. As for the Beatles song I'm in the US and I don't think this generation knows much about them but I don't mind anyway... Its a good song. Oh and do I really want to know about all these references (the obscure, etc.)? Are they that awful?

My two nephews are Noah and Jude. He is Jude Thomas after his Granddad.

We are British and unashamedly taught him Hey Jude when he was about 3 and it was the cutest thing when he sung it. It doesn't tend to come up in day to day life though.

picknmix1984 · 03/03/2021 08:55

Kids won't sing Hey Jude to each other ffs! A song from the 1960s!

Association with Jude the Obscure! What on earth?

It's a lovely name.

justletmeadoreyou · 03/03/2021 08:57

If I ever have a DS he will be called Jude. After my favourite book character (Jude St Francis of A Little Life)

Skyla2005 · 03/03/2021 11:35

It's a strange one for me. I feel like I should like it but I actually don't ! Very odd

gonnabeok · 03/03/2021 11:48

I like it personally although I did know a boy at school who was called Jude the Rude!

kottbullar · 03/03/2021 11:53

Jude Francis
