Has anyone ruined a name for you?

I used to love the name Fleur and would have actually used it. Then my sister casually said it was like Cilla Black saying 'flare', and now I have such a strong association that I couldn't possibly use it. Has this happened to anyone else?

With Ass turd that is what they did misread it as in the series. So for people who watched The Office it is a cheap and easy joke to make at Astrid's expense. Though of course series is getting older now, so children wont know it presumably. But it has spoilt the name for me.
