Lauren - v nice
Lois - no
Lydia - lovely
Verity - no, because I know a not nice one

RosesAndHellebores · 23/02/2021 23:09

Five if those names, or derivites I have used. You have very good taste op. Alice takes its root from adelheid (adelaide). DS2 was Alexander Louis.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/02/2021 23:43
  1. Adelaide - nice enough but prefer similar Adeline (so no risk of "laid" jokes)
  2. Alexandra - okay, quite classic but prefer the sound of Alexandria
5.Alice -quite popular but a very classic/timeless, can't go wrong name
  1. Estella- lovely, elegant and underused
  2. Georgia - feels slightly 90's, prefer Georgiana
  3. Juliet - beautiful, elegant and underused
10.Lauren - feels slightly 90's, much prefer classic Laura
  1. Lois - it's okay, but not a fave (much prefer Iris)
3.Lydia - very nice, classic feeling, but not too popular 4.Verity - pretty, love the meaning
DramaAlpaca · 23/02/2021 23:45

I like all your list with the exception of Georgia, Lauren and Verity.

Whatsyourflava · 24/02/2021 00:04

Favourite for me is Verity

Mwnci123 · 24/02/2021 00:08

I like Alice and Juliet.

sonnysunshine · 24/02/2021 00:11

Juliet is such a beautiful name.

SleepingStandingUp · 24/02/2021 00:12

Adelaide - love it
Alexandra - due a revival. Love Lexie as nn
Alice - lovely but increasingly popular
Estella - awful
Georgia - ok but letter Georgiana
Juliet - underused, pretty
Lauren - meh
Lois - not keen
Lydia - not keen
Verity - ok

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 24/02/2021 05:30

Adelaide - vintage in a cool way, I think we will see mlre Adelaide's about soon
Alexandra - okay, strong but a little dull
Alice - pretty but a little dull
Estella - I like it, but I prefer Stella
Georgia - I think a bit dated
Juliet - very pretty and classy
Lauren - very dated
Lois -very dated
Lydia - very nice, due a come back
Verity - I don't like this but nothing wrong with it. I just don't like the sound. Reminds me of ferrets.

Hmmm136 · 24/02/2021 10:05

Thanks for all the comments. Really helping get my thinking straight. Leaning towards Lydia, Juliet and Alexandra (but not sure about Alex...)

Juliet is my favourite and I also like Lydia, Verity, Alexandra and Alice.

Which pronunciation of Lois? The English Low-iss or the Welsh Loyce?

VenusClapTrap · 24/02/2021 12:35

Love Adelaide and Lydia.

Bruce2 · 24/02/2021 16:41

Juliet the bear by far
Beautiful

ftmum94 · 24/02/2021 20:46

Georgia is my favourite

PickettWhiteFences · 24/02/2021 21:22

The only one I really love is Alexandra. I quite like Adelaide and Lydia though.

Georiga and Alice are ok. Lauren seems a bit dated. You could have pronounciation issues with Lois.

Not really a fan of the rest.

danascully96 · 25/02/2021 08:04

Adelaide - Guys and Dolls chic, cute nn of Addie (tho drug ref), but the sound is kind of . . . 50s librarian-esque and I’m just not keen, but I can also see it belonging to a beautiful woman despite its quirkiness
Alexandra - harsh, long, and nice
Alice - frumpy, but cool namesake
Estella - I prefer Stella
Georgia - lush, but terribly rough in some accents
Juliet - nice, vastly prefer Julia
Lauren - vastly prefer Laura, but it’s OK, if not drippy
Lois - frumpy, frumpy... and frumpy
Lydia - annoying character, rhymes with chlamydia, but nice sound
Verity - No! Rhymes with “ferrets.”

mamablondie33 · 25/02/2021 08:47

Adelaide - not keen
Alexandra - it’s okay, will inevitably be Alex
Alice - Nice
Estella - dislike
Georgia - LOVE!
Juliet - lovely. I also love Jules as a nn
Lauren - dated to my ears (sorry!)
Lois - I like it
Lydia - nice
Verity - not my cup of tea at all

I think I’d go for Georgia or Juliet (Jules) from your list personally

KirstenBlest · 25/02/2021 08:48

Adelaide - don't like
Alexandra - fine but a bit long. Alex or Sasha ok as nn
Alice - I would choose this
Estella - not keen
Georgia - fine
Juliet - I don't like Jules, so no
Lauren - yuk
Lois - ok
Lydia - Lyds, so a no.
Verity - not keen. Too much like Ferrety

I think you can call her Alexandra and shorten it to something else. I like Ally, but there's also Lexie or Sasha etc. She might decide she likes Alex when she's older, but that's what I think is nice about a name with lots of options. She can have some say in what she is called, when she is old enough to have strong feelings about it.

Piapea · 25/02/2021 10:45

I love, love, love Adelaide but my brother lives there so I can't use it!
Juliet and and Lydia are also beautiful. I'm not too pushed about the rest but they are all nice.

Ellmau · 25/02/2021 10:53

Adelaide - a bit harsh sounding
Alexandra - great name, classic, strong yet feminine, lots of nn options - Allie is pretty
Alice - a bit limp
Estella - a bit prissy
Georgia - maybe starting to date a bit
Juliet - lovely
Lauren - nice but already dated
Lois - not sure
Lydia - beautiful
Verity - nice

I would go for Alexandra, I think. Perhaps with Juliet as a middle name, I think that would flow beautifully.

MarthaWashingtonsFeralTomcat · 25/02/2021 10:57

Juliet is the standout one for me

DinoDisco · 25/02/2021 16:24

Adelaide - beautiful, can be shortened to Addy (so make sure you like that too)
Alexandra - stunning, but can/will be shortened to Alex - I wouldn't pick this name for my DD because I don't like Alex for a girl.
Alice - classic, simple
Estella - similar to the beer brand and sounds harsh
Georgia - easy name, don't like personally
Juliet - strong name, sweet
Lauren - pretty, not as popular as it used to be - in a good way. I prefer Laura but still v nice
Lois - dislike, find it a bit boyish for some reason
Lydia - clamidya
Verity - I have always disliked. Not sure why. Maybe the ity sound and seriousness

Aurorie11 · 26/02/2021 23:04

For those saying Jules as a nn for Juliet, it’s could be Ettie or Jet as it is in our family
