Archie and Franky

For brothers? Expecting DS2, like the Y so it looks more masculine as I know Frankie is very popular also for girls.

I think Frankie is just the spelling of the name, for male or female. Looks odd with a 'y'. Archie and Frankie do go together but I'd spell it in the normal way.

BiBabbles · 18/02/2021 14:17

They could suit brothers, though I agree that Franky looks weird.

The only Frank(ie)s I know are male and use them as occasional nicknames (their actual names are Franklin or Francis).

Bert2020 · 18/02/2021 14:22

Definitely use Frankie, I know 1 girl Frankie but Archie & Frankie are better together

VenusClapTrap · 18/02/2021 14:28

The only Frankie I know is a boy.

LittleTiger007 · 18/02/2021 14:29

The only Frankie I know is a boy. His full name is Franklin. Great name.

Wedlock · 18/02/2021 14:32

I like Frankie, but Franky looks odd. Too like 'frankly'.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 18/02/2021 14:37

Franky will be constantly misspelt as Frankie imo, and is also a bit "samey" sounding with Archie. As a pp suggested, Franklin (even with the nn Frankie) might be better if you don't like the traditional Francis.

CautiousBlonde · 18/02/2021 20:05

I prefer with a Y. The looks girly to me

My first was going to be Frank if she were a boy

CautiousBlonde · 18/02/2021 20:06
  • the ie ffs
GolfForBrains · 18/02/2021 20:13

Or just Frank (whether you use the nickname Frankie or not). I agree with others, not Franky.

Firebird83 · 18/02/2021 22:20

Spell it Frankie. It looks weird with the y.

Puffalicious · 18/02/2021 22:22

Like PP it's Frankie, whether it's a boy or girl. And as Archie is actually Archibald shortened Frankie is Franklin (brilliant name) or Francis. I reckon Franklin is superb and goes really well with Archie.

Puffalicious · 18/02/2021 22:24

What about Stanley? My friend has a Stan and he's a really, cool little guy. Archie and Stan/ Stanley sounds great.

partyatthepalace · 18/02/2021 22:44

I think you have to spell it Frankie or it will be a pain, tis unisex, short for Francis or Franklin it’s nice. Goes well with Archie.

Other thoughts - Rory, Sandy (as nn for Alexander), Robbie (nn for Robert), Jamie (nn for James)... quite a Scottish theme developing here...
