My girl name ideas are very split down the middle into either very girly or masculine sounding and would like opinions and ideas! Love Loli and would like names that could be shortened to that also!! My name list names so far

-Rory
-Cora or Cory
-Azreal (my fave name but heard it first from the cat from the smurfs so a little wary)

Azrael is an angel of death, and is even a baddie in the smurfs so I wouldn't use that!
From your list I like Cora and Cory - you could use Cordelia as a full name to get either of those nick names.
I have a friend with a Lola who shortens it to Loli.

Rory i would only use as a nickname for Aurora (great nickname by the way) and not for a girl in its own right as could get annoying for her everyone assuming she's a boy

Cora is gorgeous, Faye is pretty and Aurora (nn Rory) nice. Louisa nn Loli would be fine. Thetis is a bit OTT for a first name, but would be okay as a middle name imo. Azrael is an Angel of Death, so middle name only at most.

You might like unisex names like Robin, Rowan or Eden? Aurelia instead of Aurora? Artemis instead of Thetis?

Loli will get lumped in with the eleventy million girls called, lily, lilah, lyra, lola...

Or any of those with el in front or rose / may / grace after.

Elora, Elara, Lily-Rose, Lilah-Grace and so on.

Not to be harsh, but this^^! Please research before you give an...interesting name! Some are lovely and unusual. Some are unusual because they are terrible or have terrible connotations.

Remembering the poster on here ages ago who had a child named Taig, pronounced tay-g. This is a derogatory term for Catholics in some places. Turned out she had named her son after a celebrity named Taïg, pronounced tah-yeeg 🙈. So not only had this poor woman given her son a name which was a mispronunciation, but it was also an anti catholic slur. Fucking hell.

• Aurora Faye is nice. Rori/Rory as a nn is cute, but is v masculine for a full name
• Thetis is nice and unusual
• Loli I wouldn’t use as a full name but nice nn for Lois, Lola, Luella

-Cora is pretty, Cory nice as a nn -Azrael is the angel of death so please skip that (along with Lolita!)

Faye is the nicest on your list.

You've got a boys' name on there, Rory. It's a masculine name that means 'red king' and sounds ridiculous on a girl, even as a diminutive of Aurora.

As for Azrael, you just can't.

Rory is a boys name.
Azrael is a boys name. And also the angel of death.
So Rory is obviously the better choice between those 2, but It's all relative.

Trying to say this gently OP, but I would try to come up with a few more suggestions...

Wasn't Azrael like a bad guy in the Bible or something? I seem to remember it having a really negative connotation.

Thetis is just ugly sounding. And will be mispronounced by young kids as fetus.

Aurora has a lovely association but can be hard for some people to pronounce. Not necessarily a reason to veto but just something to consider.

Rory is a boy's name. Everyone will hear the name and assume a boy. Is it really fair to do that to your kid?

Loli is cute as a nickname but a bit childish as a proper name. It would sound odd on a 35 year old.

I like Faye.

Cora seems to be getting popular on here. I don't really care for this name.

I have a weird theory about it - To me, because it is only 2 letters away from corona, I think people are getting so used to reading / hearing about corona, that Cora has started to feel like a familiar / appealing name.

I like Aurora too. Faye is my favourite though.

Aurora Faye Cora are all quite nice as names go. I wouldnt personally choose them though. I thought Rory was a boys name.
