Celestial twin names (for sims!)

Not human babies, but I have half alien baby twins (one girl, one boy) on the sims I need to name!

Looking for something space related, either star/planet names, or astronomers, or something else with at least some link to space.

The girl was born first, so names need to flow well when said girl then boy.

Ideas I have so far:

Girls:

Aurora nn Rory
Halley

(I really like these two so I will probably go with one of these if I can find a good boy name to go with one)

Boys:

Kelper (I quite like this but it really doesn't flow with Aurora/Rory, and I'm not sure about Halley and Kelper)
Nash

(And yes, I am aware that I am very much overthinking things, but it's important okay?)

What about Aurora/ Rory and then Sirius for the boy. Or Aurora and Orion go nicely together.

I do quite like Sirius. Unfortunately another family in town had a cat called Sirius a while back and he's been immortalised in the popular picture book "Space Cat Luna: Sidekick Sirius" so I think that one's off the table unless you want everyone saying "oh, named after the space cat?" whenever they hear his name. Grin

This would be so much eaiser if I didn't take it so siriusly...

I had a sim called Aurora with twins Luna and Lyra.

I've had a sim Seren before and a Star (she was prenamed, Star Shue in Hidden Springs, Sims 3).

I often use British Baby Names for simspiration as they have good name lists by style - here's the astronomical list: www.britishbabynames.com/blog/2011/10/astronomical-names.html

Right, I've narrowed it down to either:

Halley and Kelper

OR

Aurora and Orion (probably nicknamed Rory and Ryan)

Thoughts?

Kelper? Do you not mean Kepler?

GetTheGoodLookingGuy · 17/02/2021 14:19

@2020out

Kelper? Do you not mean Kepler?
I do indeed! Damn my habit of mis-reading things once and foreverafter reading it that way without even pausing to consider if that's right or not! I now want to go and check a book I have where the two ocean currents are named Tycho and (I thought) Kelper. Surely I can't've read that wrong too!

I don't like Kepler nearly so much.

Looks like it's Aurora and Orion!

Aurora/ Orion and Rory/ Ryan sounds lovely. Completely see where your coming from with Sirius and the cat!

2020out · 17/02/2021 14:36

Grin I'm the same with spellings!

Orion is cooler, though I quite like Kepler too.

I miss the simsGrin

Aurora and Orion. I always think Orion is a fab name for a real boy too!!

reefedsail · 17/02/2021 20:15

No help as not space-related but my current imaginary horses are called Odysseus and Perseus (Oddy and Percy).

I think I need SIMs!

reefedsail · 17/02/2021 20:19

How about angel names? Raphael and Muriel?
