How is it pronounced? If it's like eh-laura then I think it's quite pretty

partyatthepalace · 14/02/2021 13:15

Like Eh-LOR-ra?

Yes it’s very pretty, and if you are UK of Indian heritage then it has the advantage that it echoes names like Eleanor which are popular right now, so works in both cultures

Newyork88 · 14/02/2021 13:16

Yes it’s Eh-Laura / Eh-lor-ra I think

Ooh I like that, not heard it before. Lovely

My ds has an Ellora in his class. It’s nice and she’s a lovely girl 🙂

Bananablondie · 14/02/2021 14:43

I only know it as a fictional/fantasy name, I.e. Elora Danan from the film Willow. She was very cute, though.

That's where I've heard the name Elora too. Although I like the name , I think some people will think you chose it because of the film, rather than the Ellora caves in India (which is I guess why it might be a better known name in India?). But as long as you don't mind that, I think it's a very pretty and quite useable name.

Love it, such a pretty name. Like Elara too.

FelicityStrongArrow · 14/02/2021 16:37

I think it's fine

CorianderBee · 14/02/2021 16:55

So pretty

BallsToYouSue · 14/02/2021 22:31

I know an Elora (with one l) and an Elara. Neither have any Indian heritage. Think these kinds of names are quite popular at the mo? If that bothers you. Objectively, it is a pretty name Smile

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 14/02/2021 22:35

Really lovely!

Firebird83 · 15/02/2021 00:58

I prefer it spelled Elora

VenusClapTrap · 15/02/2021 09:30

I’m not keen, personally. I think because there are a lot of Ellas and Eleanors around, plus all the Bellas, it’s a similar sounding name and will just blend in with all those.

felulageller · 15/02/2021 09:33

I like it from willow!

user1493494961 · 15/02/2021 19:48

I think she would eventually be just another Ellie.
