I cannot think of a name for our fourth boy, we just don’t agree on anything. We’ve half agreed on ‘Harry’ but it’s a bit meh (or is it?!) don’t know if I’m being daft but I’m not sold.

I had a gorgeous girls name picked out early Grin

Surname is ‘Eden’ - lovely boys name to go with that?

Harry is lovely but I agree a bit meh. What about Harrison?

TinyCake · 09/02/2021 15:51

Harry is nice, I know 3 baby Harrisons though so depends if that bothers you.

finallychangedmyusername · 09/02/2021 15:57

What are your other boys names? That might help us make suggestions. Harry is a nice enough name though. I personally prefer it as a nickname for Henry.

emmathedilemma · 09/02/2021 16:04

telling us your other boys names might be a bit outing but can you tell us what was on your girl's list to give us an idea of the type of name you like?

Shampops · 09/02/2021 16:09

Harry is...fine. But there are a lot of Harrys out there. Are there really no other names you can think of?

What are your other sons called? Understand if you'd rather not say for privacy reasons.

Eden is a lovely surname to work with.

SummerHouse · 09/02/2021 16:11

We have just discussed Umbreon. Part of a wider convo with DS on if you can call a baby anything you like. Note: it is a Pokémon.

Eden is a lovely surname.

It is a bit meh, but nicer as nn for Henry or Harold (in which case you could go for Hal also)

Judging by Harry...

Lawrence nn Lawrie
Robert nn Robbie or Robin
James nn Jamie
Christopher nn Kit or Christy
Patrick
Milo / Miles
Hugh / Hugo
Nathaniel
Alistair
Thomas
Daniel
Alexander nn Alex/Alec/Sandy
Guy
Max
Jude
Samuel nn Sam

Harry is okay, but I much prefer classic Henry (then it gives him the options of both Harry and Hal as pp mentioned).

Samuel (Sam), Jacob (Jake), Daniel (Danny), John (Jack/Johnny), Robert (Robbie/Bertie), Joseph (Joey), Benjamin (Ben), Edward (Eddie/Teddy), Frederick (Freddie), Thomas (Tommy), James (Jamie), Charles (Charlie) all have the same traditional but friendly feel as Harry/Henry to me.

Overthinkingalways · 09/02/2021 16:44

Harry is nice. Yes it’s popular but it’ll stand the test of time. Disagree with pp. prefer just Harry. Henry sounds a bit wet to me

TheGardenOf · 09/02/2021 17:14

Harrison - I just see it as a surname. I think he would get called Eden Harrison (I have a son with a surname and he gets called Eden X instead of his real name!) so keen to not make that mistake again!

Don’t want to say my boys names but I like classic names (I think). I don’t really know if I have a style. My girls name was Penelope Envy

James is one of my sons middle names, as is Samuel and Alexander ffs.

Not keen on Henry.

I like Miles, Jude, Hugo (tricky as an ex)... DH doesn’t.

DH likes Elliot but I’m not keen.

Just said “what about Maxwell (nn Max obv)” & it got “are you having a laugh?” Bloody helll!! He’s a nightmare - husband not child!

Thanks all btw, I’m just hitting a brick wall here but going to keep coming back and going over them with DH. We need a name! Not long to go now.

I guess we could always wait & see what he looks like when he’s born but knowing my hormonal state I’ll probably just agree to something I don’t like!

The Penelope I know has a brother called Rory?

I don't really like Harry. I feel as if it sort of lost all meaning when every other baby boy was named Harry or Charlie! It is the sort of name there aren't just couple of in the same class, but the sort where there are 5 in the same class at a certain age. Not so any more, as it isn't as crazily popular as it was, but it feels blah to me because of that.

This may all just be where I love as well obviously.

Lots of good suggestions on here and I really like Penelope fwiw.

Spied · 09/02/2021 19:05

I like Oliver Eden.
I also like Thomas, Isaac and Matthew.
