Names for boys (aristocratic/posh/fancy)

Hi All!
Looking for a fancy sounding middle name for our son.
We're from a family who're used to really quite fancy names - but we chose to go for something pretty middle of the road by their standards for our boy. Because of this, it'd be great to find a sophisticated middle name for him instead.
And before you start with comments about 'posh' and upper class and 'why would you want your son to have a posh name' and all the class warrior stuff, there's no need. Preferences are preferences and we don't need to get into a debate on the ridiculous class system in this country, we get it.
Names we considered Hugo, Montgomery, Rafferty, etc. Nothing too extreme like Ptolemy or anything - they're not THAT posh!
DS name begins with L.
Thanks for your help :-)

First thought was Tarquinius. But if that is too posh how about Tegwen?
(Or Tegwin, Tegwyn etc)

midsomermurderess · 06/02/2021 13:20

It amuses that Rafferty of considered posh.

Bigoldmachine · 06/02/2021 13:41

The two poshest people I’ve ever met have been

Peregrine (Perry)
Piers

I’ve recently met babies called
Isambard (Izzy)
Balthazar (Bazzie)

Poshest people I've met (who weren't called Tom or something, and excluding those with exceedingly rare names):

Jago
Hugo
Hugh
Augustine
Matthias
Darius

I also reckon a Roman name is pretty fancy.

Ooh, also,

Benedict

Rafferty is an Irish surname. I'm not sure how it came to have posh name status. Maybe because it's got Victorian villain sound to it?

For a quite posh but not excessively posh middle name what about Miles?

Miles is nice. I always liked Giles but can't escape the thought of Giles Brandwreth!
