First and middle name help - anagram

LottieX · 05/02/2021 10:25

In tribute to my mum who unfortunately passed away unexpectedly last year I want an anagram of her name for our baby girl who's due in a month. Her surname will begin with a P and my mums name is Sheila. Any suggestions of a first and middle name combo that would be an anagram of Sheila would be appreciated as we're a bit stuck now for ideas!

We like names such as:
Elsie
Cara
Callie
Sophia

Leisha?

DavidsSchitt · 05/02/2021 11:25

I'd just call her Sheila. It's a lovely name and properly honours your mum

ApolloandDaphne · 05/02/2021 11:30

The name Sheila is looked to the name Celia/Cecelia so you could use that instead but the link would still be there. We did something like that with our youngest DD. We wanted to give her a middle name to link her to her older sister who died before she was born. Her sister was called Hannah which means grace so we used Grace as her middle name.

StressedTired · 05/02/2021 11:43

Sheila is pretty, why not use it as it is for a strong link to your mum?

Sophia Sheila P
Cara Sheila P

I would but my mum didn't actually like her first name hence why I wanted to tweak it slightly but still have the meaning behind it. Honestly naming little human is so hard!

Sheila means heavenly

So my suggestions would be:
Nevaeh
Angelina
Jannah
Celeste
Celine
Alya

darlingsweetpea · 05/02/2021 12:19

Have you considered Isla?

Chambored · 05/02/2021 12:19

I think @ArosAdraDrosDolig has got it with Elisha.

Chambored · 05/02/2021 12:21

You could use that as either the first name or middle name. With something from your list.
Elisha Cara
Cara Elisha

calmearth · 05/02/2021 12:26

Why don't you just use Sheila as a middle name.

finallychangedmyusername · 05/02/2021 19:38

Isla Helena (He completing the anagram for Sheila)
Or
Isla H E initials e.g. Isla Harriet Elise

Or
Hailey - Nickname Hailes?

Or
Alicia - almost Alishe?

Or
Ashlie?

ILoveStickers · 05/02/2021 20:21

Do you definitely mean anagram? Just those letters rearranged?

Elisha is the best.

Otherwise, the Irish spelling is Síle, which is nice. Or you could have Cecelia, or maybe Celia.

daisypond · 05/02/2021 21:07

I love Síle. I like Sheila too. Shelagh is a Scottish form. Cecilia or Celia are English forms of the same name.

Bluesername · 05/02/2021 21:14

Ashley Isla
Elsie Leah

Selina Holly
Sasha Louise

Nonamesavail · 07/02/2021 08:01

I'd just use sheila

sorryiasked · 07/02/2021 08:09

Why not use a name your mum would like, eg similar to your own/your siblings which she presumably chose?

TooSensibleOfMyDefects · 07/02/2021 08:14

It's lovely you want to honour your mum. So sorry she has gone.

Is there anything else that isn't necessarily her name but something she loved that could inspire a name? Maybe a place, colour, flower, music, book or film something like that. Just thinking if she didn't like her name, there might be another way to remember her.

Constance44 · 07/02/2021 08:16

My mum's name was Sheila and we wanted to honour her with DD's name. My mum like yours didn't actually like the name Sheila herself, so we used her favourite flower (Jasmine) as a middle name instead. Could you do something similar- it seems to me if you don't want to use the name an anagram isn't really naming your daughter after your mother.

TinyCake · 07/02/2021 12:44

Could you use your mum's middle name?

TinyCake · 07/02/2021 12:46

@Bluesername Elsa Heidi is nice
