So names like Grey, Indigo, Blue, Violet, Silver etc are quite popular.

What about Pink, Yellow, and Green?

Are there any untapped colour names?

Ochre, Khaki, Mustard, Beige, Taupe

AlohaMolly · 04/02/2021 20:20

I think Mauve would fit right in with the baby names of today!

KirstenBlest · 04/02/2021 20:22

Orange, Copper, Purple, Mauve, Chartreuse, Ecru, Carmine

KirstenBlest · 04/02/2021 20:23

Cross-posted.

Puce.

KirstenBlest · 04/02/2021 20:24

Puce is awesome. Grin

diddlediddle · 04/02/2021 20:25

I think Ecru would fit in well with the Arlos

Emerald?

diddlediddle · 04/02/2021 20:26

Chartreuse and Carmine would be excellent twins

Magenta had a flurry of popularity about 40 years ago. I can't imagine Orange or Maroon doing the same though!

partyatthepalace · 04/02/2021 20:29

My twins Moss and Mustard...

KirstenBlest · 04/02/2021 20:31

My DC are called Ecru and Viridian.

VienneseWhirligig · 04/02/2021 20:31

I have a friend with a son called Green

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/02/2021 20:36

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 04/02/2021 20:43

I'd got for twin boys called Russet and Vermillion

And a girl called Teal

Willow4987 · 04/02/2021 20:45

I’ve heard of a boy called Navy

KirstenBlest · 04/02/2021 20:48

Olive-Skye and Lilac-Rose to Scarlett-Blue and Ruby-Mauve

Boys could be Jet, Red etc

Tinkity · 04/02/2021 20:49

I know a Magnolia, Maggie for short.

diddlediddle · 04/02/2021 20:51

All wonderful suggestions so far. Magnolia, interesting. We could stray into paint colours. Elephants breath?

timeisnotaline · 04/02/2021 22:34

Cyan of course! And ruby, periwinkle (perry for short), ash, mint. Teal?

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 04/02/2021 22:43

I know sisters Teale and Blu. Admittedly, in the US, not UK.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 04/02/2021 22:44

And if we're going into paint colours, how about a boy named Denim?

MrsBobDylan · 04/02/2021 23:09

Goldie (unisex). Perfect for today's gender fluid generation.

HoratioNightboy · 05/02/2021 00:30

how about a boy named Denim?

We have one in our family! We hoped it was going to be spelled Denholm, given that the surname sort of relates to fabric. Hmm

grandmasterstitch · 05/02/2021 07:13

My DS pronounces cyan and Diane the same so that could work! As a side note I think Grey is awful! Grey is never associated with good things
