Jerry.....(sorry!)

Celine and Elise work perfectly with Margot - they have a similar chic, French feel to me (my preference would be for Celine). Madeleine is lovely and works too, but I'm not keen on same initials for same sex siblings personally.

Anna, Amy and Nina seem a bit classic compared to quirkier Margot imo, and Gabrielle and Nicole feel slightly dated to me.

TheRedFox · 03/02/2021 21:59

I think Celina or Elise goes best from your list but that makes it quite a French theme.

mustardmustard · 03/02/2021 22:02

Thanks! I love French names but don't speak a word of French so was worried it would be overkill shouting 2 French names in an Essex playground!Grin
I really like Amy but like you said, not as strong as Margot so am worried about that.
Really hard to find strong girls names!

I like Nina and Anna. They are a bit different to Margot but still classic strong names that aren't overused.

CarlottaValdez · 03/02/2021 22:09

Weird you’ve had an Audrey suggestion - I was just coming on to say that the Margot I know has a sister called Audrey.

I know two Margots, one has a sister called Esther and the other has a sister called Pearl. Both sound nice together. From your list I like Anna the best.

DitzyFakeBlonde · 03/02/2021 22:38

Oh I love Margot and Aubrey (not a typo of Audrey), loved the names but DH wasn’t keen.

A few wildcards
Amara
Eloisa
Elodie
Persephone
Seraphine
Ophelia
Sabine

Sophia and Eloise as suggested by PP’s

Out of your list I like Celine best. How about:

Celia / Cecilia
Adele
Estelle
Julia

partyatthepalace · 03/02/2021 23:18

I think Anna is the best match - has a classic mid century cool like Margot

Actually that’s the only one I like!
Madeleine is nice in itself but too twinny with Margot, Elise and Celine I think only work if you’re French (though Celena/Selena I think would work), Nicole and Gabrielle are dated, Nina and Amy are little girlish.

I’d go with Anna, I really like it, but other thoughts - Lois, Lauren, Laura, Lena, Sarah, Felicity, Diana, Selena, Oona, Frances, Stella, Celia

Nicole
Amy
Gabrielle
Nina
Anna
Celine
Madeleine
Elise

Margot is reallt cool and most of your names like dont go! Amy and Nicole are dated and dull (one of them is my name Grin) and Gabrielle and Madaleine are too frilly and also a bit dull compared to Margot. With Margot I'd pair a name with a similar feel - sort of vintage and a bit sassy! Like Eliza or Nancy or Tess.

Of your list, I love Anna, Nina and Elise but Anna is too plan next to Margot. I'd choose Nina or Elise!

How about Lucienne, a pretty french name I discovered recently? Or Zelie (a French name taken from St Zelie Martin, St Therese of Liseux's mother). Or for another 'm' name I like Manon, think it is just as cool as Margot! Or for a name with a similar feel to Gabrielle, Raphaela/Raphaelle is less common and I also think this is really cool.

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 04/02/2021 02:15

Oohh missed Celine off the list, I also love Celine. i'd choose Nina, Elise or Celine.
