Grace Ophelia. Looks lovely written down but not sure it rolls off the tongue. What are your thoughts?

I love the name grace but Ophelia is a burlesque name. Ophelia butt.

Fastedbrownie · 01/02/2021 08:20

Sounds like a sort of sexual perversion when you say it out loud tbh.

I was thinking this too! 😬

Ophelia Grace flows better... Although actually, it does sojnd a bit like 'I'll feel ya, Grace'.

What about Aurelia or Ophira as a middle?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 01/02/2021 10:28

I agree Ophelia Grace sounds better

KirstenBlest · 01/02/2021 10:38

I'm not keen on either of them.

Grace sounds quite harsh, and Ophelia is sounds too much like Feel ya.

Middle names aren't used much. How does Grace Surname sound?

majesticallyawkward · 01/02/2021 10:46

Not a fan of either personally and I don't think they roll off the tongue particularly well.

Ophelia is very much tacky drag queen... Ophelia balls is very well known on my local nightlife scene.

Kingkong66 · 01/02/2021 14:28

I love Ophelia Grace. Ophelia is on my list

I don't get the mumsnet hate for Ophelia. I know a couple IRL and it's never seemed anything out of the norm.

Whatsyourflava · 01/02/2021 15:24

Greta Ophelia

Whatsyourflava · 01/02/2021 15:24

Love both Ophelia and Grace though

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/02/2021 20:15

I love the name Ophelia -so poetic sounding, but it doesn't work with my surname as it sounds a bit rude. Grace Ophelia seems fine to me - Grace is very popular at the moment but it's also a fairly classic, elegant name. So if Grace Ophelia works with your surname, I say go for it.

finallychangedmyusername · 01/02/2021 20:33

I really like Grace in the first name spot. I'm not a massive fan of Ophelia though, sorry.

Grace Olivia is very similar - begins with O, 4 syllables and is also Shakespearean.

Or:

  • Grace Mariana or Grace Isabella or Grace Emilia or Grace Adriana or Grace Angelica or Grace Cordelia - all also Shakespearean
  • Grace Eliana or Grace Evangeline or Grace Athena - also Greek

I like it a lot although Grace slightly overused perhaps

goldpendant · 01/02/2021 21:27

Have you thought about Olympia? Great name, almost used for DD.

partyatthepalace · 01/02/2021 23:04

It does not sound like a sexual perversion!!

I think Grace Ophelia is the best way round - but either works. Both good names

Krazynights34 · 01/02/2021 23:06

I had a DD called Grace and I live Ophelia too!

Bluesername · 01/02/2021 23:21

I like Grace Ophelia. The longer middle name balances the shorter first name.

Grace Cordelia
Grace Miranda
Grace Eliana
Grace Marianne
Grace Penelope

CountessFrog · 01/02/2021 23:22

I think it’s beautiful

WagnerTheWehrWolf · 01/02/2021 23:27

I'm another who thinks Ophelia is slightly comical. Brings out my inner schoolboy humour.

Olympia as mentioned above is great though. Very dramatic. In a good way.
