So far the only names we both like are..

Martha
Clara
Alice
Anya
Eva
Thea

Looking for peoples general thoughts on these names if possible.

Martha - ok
Clara - don't like it
Alice - like it a lot
Anya - ok but prefer Anna
Eva - don't like it, overused
Thea - don't like it, overused

I really like all the names on your list! That isn't especially helpful, I appreciate, but still.

The only one I would be a bit hesitant about would be Eva, which I find a little bland.

My favourite would probably be Clara.

Martha - really don’t like - because of dreary Martha in the bible

Clara - very nice! And not hideously overused

Alice - nice but many of them - depends if that bothers you

Anya - I find it a bit meh, prefer the classic Anna

Eva - like Alice - nice but there are many Eve/Eva/Evelyn/Avas

Thea - very meh, though Theodora is lovely

So I like Clara best! Other thoughts - Stella, Bea (nn for Beatrice), Emma, Pippa (nn for Philippa), Lois, Ines, Caitlin, Robin, May (very overused as a middle name, but not as a first name), Iris, Hannah, Frances, Lara, Lauren

Martha - no don’t like it.

Thea - I like it but it’s popular

Martha - this was originally on my list but there are SO many little Martha's around now, have gone off it a bit.

Clara - not keen. Seems a bit prim and fussy.
Alice - lovely and classic
Anya - really like this. Nice alternative to Anna
Eva - yuk! Really ugly
Thea - not keen on the sound.

Martha is my favourite from the list

I notice you like names ending in "a"

My favourite name like this is Anita. Just mentioning in case you hadn't considered it.

All the names on that list are lovely though.

Martha and Alice

Love Clara, Martha and Alice. Like the rest too apart from Anya.

I like them all apart from Martha which sounds a bit dowdy to me. It depends what style of name you want as the others are all pretty imo.

Anya is reasonably uncommon, slightly exotic sounding to me and international.
Eva is more classic and much more popular but equally international sounding.
Alice is the ultimate "English" traditional , perennially well used so should never date.
Clara is retro/vintage cool but subject to fashion whims (similar Lara less so).
Thea is very classical sounding but is also a bit trendy at the moment.

My choice would probably be Anya - well known and consistently used but not overpopular (or you could have Anna nn Anya if you want something more classic for the BC).

I like Clara and Alice.

I love all of them, especially Martha. Not too keen on Anya, like pps have said, prefer Anna.

Martha - not keen, always seems dowdy and fusty to me
Clara - fine but I’ve always found it a bit clunky-sounding. Lara has a much ‘lighter’ sound imo.
Alice - love how timeless it is and the many brilliant namesakes but its popularity would put me off a bit

Anya - really like this - faintly exotic and sophisticated and would travel well
Eva - bland and overdone. Little Evies and Evas everywhere!

Thea - pretty enough but lacks substance for me

My picks would be Anya or Alice if popularity doesn’t bother you.

Martha - I'm not normally a big fan of biblical names but this one is lovely
Clara - love this too
Alice - I really like this but it feels from recent months on Mumsnet that this could be about to get really popular. I know 3 in real life aged 19, 17 and 15
Anya - I love this too
Eva - this is the only one I don't like. I find it boring and so so popular. I like Ada.
Thea - gorgeous.

Thea would easily be my favourite but, other than Eva, all your other choices are great.

Martha - I really like this and I think it's very underused
