We're due our first baby in the middle of May and we are struggling to find a boys name we love, here is our list so far, I'm open to suggestions if you have others. 🥰 what do you think of our names?

Dylan
Max
Arthur

That's all we can agree on so far! 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think Arthur is lovely, Max is OK and I really don't like Dylan.

emmathedilemma · 29/01/2021 21:17

I like them all.
Probably like Arthur the most although I wonder about how popular it’s become?
Max is quite timeless.
I like Dylan but wonder if it’s got a bit of a “naughty boy” image?

Firebird83 · 29/01/2021 21:17

I agree with @intheshallows

Quercus3 · 29/01/2021 22:04

I like them all! I think Arthur is quite popular now though.

partyatthepalace · 29/01/2021 22:14

Love Arthur, like Max a lot, think Dylan is OK.

Umm Rory, Patrick, Lorne, Guy,
Kit or Christy as a nn for Kester/Christopher/Christian, Jamie as nn for James, Alistair, Nathaniel, John, Robbie as a nn for Robert

daisypond · 29/01/2021 22:15

I like Dylan and Max. I can’t warm to Arthur. Dylan is always pronounced wrongly, so it depends if that bothers you.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 29/01/2021 22:20

I like all 3. Probably my fave is Max as it seems the most timeless to me (never particularly in fashion but never really out either) although I like it best as a nn for classical Maximilian.

Dylan has a lovely poetic feel to me and is obviously classic sounding in Wales, but I'm not sure about in the rest of the UK.

Arthur is a very traditional name with a wonderful history but has become a bit too trendy/popular at the moment imo.

Similar names you might like - Owen, Evan, Tristan, Macsen (could have Max as a nn), Xavier, Felix, Zach(ary), Isaac, (Ale)Xander. Alfred, Wilfred, Henry, Edward

35andThriving · 29/01/2021 22:29

I like Dylan best, then Max, then Arthur. Smile

Alakasam · 29/01/2021 22:29

Max (biased mummy) - it was the only boy's name we really wanted. Now I'm expecting DS2 and we are stuck!!

Onlinedilema · 29/01/2021 22:31

I think Arthur is very different to Max and Dylan. Arthur is very grandad chic whereas the other too are more modern.

DontFadeAway · 30/01/2021 09:19

@IamnotwhouthinkIam thank you! The popularity of Arthur is the only thing putting me off right now 😭 OH is very fussy when it comes to names so I'm shocked he's agreed to 3 this far!

Really great list @DontFadeAway
I really like all 3

How about Rex if you like Max
Tristan
Austin
Casper
Laurence

DontFadeAway · 30/01/2021 12:51

Thank you @Whatsyourflava ☺️

I absolutely LOVE Austin but OH has vetoed it 😭

Jasper
Silas
Levi

MaverickDanger · 30/01/2021 13:58

Arthur is really popular - my midwife said it’s the most popular name she’s come across in the last year or so.

Max and Dylan were on our list, we went with Lachlan instead.

Other names on our list:

Nathaniel
Owen
Caspar
Caleb

EdgeOfACoin · 30/01/2021 16:27

Arthur is very trendy. I quite like Art as a nn, but I live in London and 'Arfur' would put me right off.

I like Max best.

MBb217 · 30/01/2021 20:21

Love Max, Arthur is ok but I don’t rate Dylan. But I’m a teacher so this could make my name associations and likes a bit biased ha.

Bumblebee1980a · 30/01/2021 20:30

Like Max and Arthur but really don't like Dylan.

Samson
Felix
Ralph
Jasper
Eden
Judah
Eden
Leo

MercyBodle · 01/02/2021 05:36

I like Max a lot, and I don't mind Arthur. I'm not so keen on Dylan

Lex
Felix
Alec
Alexander
Alistair
Theodore
Edmund
Edward
Martin
Jasper

DontFadeAway · 01/02/2021 07:55

I think we're leaning towards Max with Dylan as a second choice! The popularity of Arthur really puts me off ☺️

KirstenBlest · 01/02/2021 20:40

Max is my favourite of the 3. I dislike the name Dylan when it is pronounced Dillun.

Babydust13 · 01/02/2021 20:42

Max is my favourite we couldn't use it unfortunately as it's our nephews name

finallychangedmyusername · 01/02/2021 20:45

I like all your shortlist! They all strike me as handsome fuss-free names.

Other suggestions:
Thomas
Oscar
Rex
Nate
Lucas
Callum
