Am I talking myself out of a name?

Has anyone had the perfect name and thought about it so much they’ve maybe gone off it?

We’d pretty much decided on Meredith and it has had good reactions from most the people we’ve told. But the more I think about it I might be talking myself out of it? Although no real reason why.

Husband is already insisting on Merry which I don’t hate but I prefer Meredith and the Meredith’s I’ve known have gone by their full name.

Alternatives are Beatrix or Florence and both feel a bit too popular.

I feel like I’m going mad.

Love Meredith!

Apparently Meredith has been more popular as a girl’s name than a boy’s for 100 years (since 1920s), so that wouldn’t be a concern to me.

I do like it, and Merry, but if I had a husband who started 'insisting' in this way, I'd dig my heels in.

Much prefer Beatrice and Bea is lovely.

I love you ve Meredith go with that

I know so many Florence's and quite a few Beatrix / Beatrice's too

I like it, but then I also like Merry as a nn. If you don't like both I wouldn't use it...

I feels quite different, less traditional and feminine to Beatrix and Florence to me. Beatrix may end up Bea or Trixie (if you spell it Beatrice you can possibly avoid the latter), Florence may end up Flo (or Flossy)

Marianne or Maryam good?
