Both on my short list, both pretty names. Which do you prefer?

Alice. They are both lovely but Isla is so popular at the moment, Alice is a bit more timeless.

Peachbubble · 26/01/2021 13:16

I prefer Alice.

Firebird83 · 26/01/2021 13:30

Alice, definitely. Isla will date badly.

finallychangedmyusername · 26/01/2021 14:00

Alice is timeless. Isla is too "of the moment" so it will date.

ILoveShula · 26/01/2021 14:00

Alice. It's a classic whereas Isla will date.

RubyandPearl · 26/01/2021 14:02

I came on to say the same as everyone else! Alice is a timeless name and will always be beautiful. Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way x

pinkpanther84 · 26/01/2021 14:02

I really like Isla

saywhatwhatnow · 26/01/2021 14:02

Alice, it's timeless. I liked it for a girl but unfortunately doesn't go with our surname.

frenchlavenderfeild · 26/01/2021 14:09

I prefer Isla, it doesn't feel to me like it will date but I'm scottish. Alice always sounds prissy to me.

KirstenBlest · 26/01/2021 14:13

Isla is pretty but there are so many similar names like Lila, Skyla and Mila etc.

Charlotte won't drop out of fashion because of the young princess.

partyatthepalace · 26/01/2021 14:13

Both nice. Both popular.

Alice is probably more popular than Isla, but Alice is also more classic so won’t end up feeling so dated

emmathedilemma · 26/01/2021 14:37

Alice

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/01/2021 16:07

Alice by a billion miles and I don't even particularly like that so you can imagine my feelings on Isla..

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 27/01/2021 01:23

Alice definitely of the two- it's a classic name. Isla is much more trendy and will likely date.

MercyBodle · 27/01/2021 01:38

I much prefer Alice.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 27/01/2021 01:59

Alice just simple and classic. Plus you will have Alice in wonderland books etc. Kids love their name in a storySmile

Isla sounds like your trying to hard to be trendy or something

SnuffleBadger · 27/01/2021 02:02

Definitely Alice. One of my all time favourites but when we had DD I realised it really doesn't go with our surname plus sounds too much like the shortened version of DH's first name...so disappointing Sad

Should of just changed your husband Grin
OloBo · 27/01/2021 04:01

Alice

intheshallows · 27/01/2021 05:00

We're going to name ours Alice so I'm very biased! Have a noticed a lots of threads here recently though (including mine) with people considering the name though so don't know if that's indicative of a rise in popularity at all.

Kote · 27/01/2021 05:16

Isla

Prianiki · 27/01/2021 06:14

I prefer Isla. I just don't like the hissing sound in Alice.

Ellada19 · 27/01/2021 06:46

Both are so pretty! Isla is probably my favourite, just because I know a sweet Isla :)

IndieRo · 27/01/2021 06:54

Alice. My DH friend and his wife called their baby daughter Isla. Unfortunately their surname was White... They didn't cop it until everybody commented on it. They changed the babies name when she was 4 months Blush

cloudcett · 27/01/2021 07:05

Both lovely names, but I also prefer Alice
