I want an Indian name for DD, I posted about Shefali in my previous thread, I have some more on the list, Honest opinions?

Manisha
Mahima
Leela
Vaishali

Looking for names with an “ee” sound to them. And ideally ending in “ni” or “li”.

Of those, I liks Shefali best.

Did it get a begative review on here?

Vaishali is pretty to.

(I think I like the i sound at the end of both!)

Sandybeachess · 20/01/2021 15:25

@steppemum
Thanks for the feedback! :)
No, I got mixed reviews but I thought I’d put the other names on here as well to get some more clarity

Other ones I have:
Monali / Manali
Malini
Mayuri
Ambali
Mahika
Mihika
Ankita

I know a Milaani and absolutely love it.

sleepingfox · 20/01/2021 15:54

Vaishali is beautiful, that’s my favourite of your choices. I also really like Monali and Ankita, as well as Shefali Smile

Elouera · 20/01/2021 16:00

Malini is a complete NO! It sounds like a dreadful medical condition which causes offence, bloody stools- Melaena.

Manisha is easy for someone not familiar with the name to pronounce it correctly the 1st try. Some of the others, not so. I also like Shalini.

Sandybeachess · 20/01/2021 16:47

@Elouera Ah thanks for pointing that out! Like the suggestion of Shalini, didn’t have that one on the list!

Vaishali and Manisha both are very pretty names

LandlordLottie · 21/01/2021 19:35

I’m not Indian but a keen Indophile. The Vaishali is a famous Indian train - I think it’s the Delhi to Calcutta train.

LandlordLottie · 21/01/2021 19:37

Manisha is lovely.

partyatthepalace · 21/01/2021 19:38

How bout Serena - I think that’s used in India too??

UnityUnited · 21/01/2021 19:39

Manisha is nice but I know a few middle-aged women so it doesn’t feel like a little girl’s name to me. The name you‘be chosen is beautiful.

LandlordLottie · 21/01/2021 19:40

I’m not keen on Shefali which reminds me of Sheffield, but I love Shivali.

bridgetreilly · 21/01/2021 19:43

Well, I've always like Shefali Oza so I would pick that.

MsF1t · 21/01/2021 19:47

I love Mahika.

mammmamia · 21/01/2021 19:48

Shivali or Shivani are much nicer than Shefali

JohnBarron · 21/01/2021 19:53

I like Shefali.
Shivali and Shivani are nice. I knew someone called Chirani a few years ago, I always thought that was pretty.

Vaishali is nice too. I don’t like Manisha.

Wallywobbles · 21/01/2021 19:53

Gopali

ClaudiaWankleman · 21/01/2021 19:55

I have to throw it into the ring, because it’s one of the most fabulous names I’ve ever heard. It doesn’t strictly fit your requirements though!

Mridula

Amdone123 · 21/01/2021 19:57

Vaishali is beautiful.

mammmamia · 21/01/2021 21:44

Grin Mridula or Mradula is a very old fashioned name indeed!

Balloondog · 21/01/2021 21:48

Nalini
Nandini
Shalini
