Initial nicknames

We'd like to give our son a middle name which then means he can be referred to by his initials.
For example, if his name was Aaron - Aaron James would be A.J.

However, his first name is a one syllable name beginning with L.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what letter we should go with for the beginning of the middle name so that he can have an initial nickname?
L doesn't seem to go with anything, like T and A do, for example.
Another option is a sounding initial, so for example
S.J would be Essjay.
R.T would be Arty.
So L would be El... something?
Can anyone come up with one for L?

L is a more difficult initial for that kind of nickname. Some really don't work for a boy (eg. LC, LE) and some are just too hard to say.

I think LD, LJ and LT sound best.

A B name? Then he’d be ell-bee - which isn’t too far from Albie?

A C name would give you Elsie but that’s a bit girlie perhaps.

I wouldn’t overthink it though, most people as adults I know with initial names have just developed organically and aren’t typical initial names (I know a CW, a TD and a PJM - none of these are standard or expected initial names).

Is this because the L name is a family name but you don’t actually like it all that much? Seems a bit of an odd approach otherwise!

LJ works ok - so if he’s Luke he could be Luke Jeremiah (or whatever)
