Nice name.

FluffyEggsontoast · 17/01/2021 09:21

I love the name Margot

DacwMamYnDwad · 17/01/2021 09:23

I don't like it.

simonthedog · 17/01/2021 09:25

i love it, was on my list

Chilldonaldchill · 17/01/2021 09:28

I quite like it. I know a baby Margot.
Margot Elizabeth
Margot Penelope
Margot Annabel
Margot Sophia
Margot Emily
Margot Florence

IsabellaMozzarella · 17/01/2021 09:29

I love it but would spell it Margaux.
I think a longer middle name would work. Matilda. Rebecca

UnwantedOpinionBelow · 17/01/2021 09:32

Not a fan

ParisJeTAime · 17/01/2021 09:37

Love it! But, think it is a bit trendy at the moment, which you might want to consider. It might have a boom soon and then date badly.

bourbonne · 17/01/2021 10:39

Lovely but very now. It's a name I hear often at playgrounds.

VenusClapTrap · 17/01/2021 14:53

Lovely. Makes me think of The Good Life.

finallychangedmyusername · 17/01/2021 16:25

It seems to be a popular Mumsnet name, but I'm not keen sorry. I think of Margot from the Good Life.

I really like Margaret though... think that is due a comeback. It has a similar ending to the consistently popular Charlotte, Juliet, Harriet, Violet, and loads and loads of great nicknames (Maisie being my favourite).

Middle names I might pair with Margot (I think it needs something "younger"/"fresher"/"daintier" to pair with it):

Margot Olivia
Margot Amelia
Margot Tabitha
Margot Sophia
Margot Beatrix

KaptainKaveman · 17/01/2021 16:27

I think it's nice.

EvieBoo2 · 17/01/2021 16:28

Not for me, sorry.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 17/01/2021 18:51

Dislike, sorry. Margot is very trendy at the moment but doesn't have a particularly nice sound to me. Also reminds me of "The Good Life", so despite Margot Robbie I still visually see a posh middle aged/older woman when I hear the name.

I think Greta is much nicer if you are wanting a Margaret diminutive, or classical Juno or Clio are prettier imo if you want a name with the trendy "o" ending.

partyatthepalace · 17/01/2021 19:50

Love it. Getting pretty popular mind you.

It’s quite a heavy sounding name so I’d use a lighter middle name - Lucy, Emily, Anna

Liana2021 · 18/01/2021 00:12

I love love love Margot, couldn’t use it for my DD as it is the name of my cousin (French so spelled Margaux).
Pick it please ! Grin

daisypond · 18/01/2021 00:50

I like it a lot. Margot is a French name. Margaux is a wine.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 18/01/2021 02:28

Margot is beautiful.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 18/01/2021 02:32

I love it.

I can't imagine anyone younger would associate it with The Good Life.

DramaAlpaca · 18/01/2021 02:40

Nope, not for me. I dislike both the sound and the look of it written down. To me it's quite an ugly name, but at least it's not cutesy or twee which is hugely in its favour.

Cressie2 · 18/01/2021 13:05

Love it. It’s very beautiful.

I love it. I do think it is increasing in popularity but doubt it will ever be super popular.

Middle names - I think it can go with most things, I’d avoid anything french or too old lady sounding as it’s quite an old fashioned name that’s being revived. Margot Grace, Margot Catherine, Margot Elise...
