I'm finding it so hard to settle on a girl's name - there are so many lovely ones out there. Sorted if a boy.

Which of these stand out to you (if any!) as the nicest? Thanks!

Esme
Grace
Eva
Leah
Erin
Sylvie
Ayda
Juliette
Jasmine

Esme - gorgeous
Grace - so ugly, and inexplicably popular
Eva - nice
Leah - nice
Erin - dreadful. So wishy-washy
Sylvie - cute but a bit try hard
Ayda - stunning
Juliette - awful. Spoiled posh girl
Jasmine - not great. Just doesn't sound like a real name

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 14/01/2021 23:59

Sylvie
Juliet

And if you do go for it, Ada rather than Ayda.

lobsteroll · 15/01/2021 00:03

Juliette

Jasharps · 15/01/2021 00:04

Jasmine or Juliet

starfire88 · 15/01/2021 00:11

Erin is my favourite - classic, recognisable but not overused.

Close contenders were Esme, Eva and Grace.

JustanotherTuesday · 15/01/2021 00:14

Leah, Erin or Jasmine.

sleepingfox · 15/01/2021 00:15

Sylvie is my favourite, I like Juliet (not so keen on Juliette) and Eva too.

LiJo2015 · 15/01/2021 00:18

Juliette and Erin

Enough4me · 15/01/2021 00:23

First time I think I've seen a list on here and liked all the names.
I particularly like
Juliette Grace
Or
Erin Grace

dodgem · 15/01/2021 00:41

I love Ada. But know an Aida . Makes it look like aid as in needs help. Somehow ruins a beautiful name . But it is a simple and beautifully classy name I think

CuppaZa · 15/01/2021 00:45

Sylvie
Grace
Eva

These are beautiful

CuppaZa · 15/01/2021 00:46

I also think it’s the first time I’ve seen a lovely list of names on here Grin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/01/2021 00:50

Leah Grace

dodgem · 15/01/2021 00:50

I agree with @CuppaZa they are all absolutely beautiful names. Grace is lovely but it's quite common as a middle name, along with Rose for the area I'm in anyway. Always loved Leah. It's cute but can also imagine them as a strong respected female lawyer or something. The name shouldn't make the person but everyone gets an impression/judgement in their head

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 15/01/2021 01:22

Erin

partyatthepalace · 15/01/2021 02:20

All nice except Leah and Ayda

Juliette (I’d spell Juliet so you aren’t endlessly correcting), Erin, Sylvie snd probably Jasmine are less common.

Lots of Esme, Evas and Graces about.

MamaLoLo1 · 15/01/2021 02:20

I adore Sylvie - it has a classy sound to it and is beautiful written down - but like the flexibility of Erin. I can imagine a girly girl and a tomboy with this name.

SeaWitchly · 15/01/2021 02:35

Eva or Ayda (Ada)

NeonFlamingos · 15/01/2021 08:18

Thank you for all your helpful replies! I agree now that Ada is how it should be (not Ayda).

I keep trying to imagine what I would like to be called but I think I'd be happy with any of them.

I think Sylvie, Eva & Leah are my front runners now.

Esme and Eva are lovely

EileenGC · 15/01/2021 08:24

I love Erin and Grace. I also really like Eva but not how it's pronounced in English so I personally wouldn't use it we were living in an English speaking country. It travels really well though so it will be recognised (maybe mispronounced) in most countries.

Enko · 15/01/2021 08:27

Sylvie or Juliette

KirstenBlest · 15/01/2021 08:33

Esme - nice but some people spell is Esmae (don't like) and some Esmée (like), so too complicated
Grace - nice but will be Grice in some accents, and she might not be graceful
Eva - overpopular
Leah - a bit nothingy
Erin - plain and harsh-sounding
Sylvie - not keen
Ayda - awful, Ada is better, but I'm not keen
Juliette - Juliet is much nicer
Jasmine - nice

Jasmine or Juliet

MercyBodle · 15/01/2021 12:22

Sylvie and Juliet ( prefer this spelling) are my favourites

I also like: Ada, Grace, Erin, Leah.

Esme and Eva are okay.

I would cross off Jasmine.

MBb217 · 15/01/2021 13:20

Esme stands out to me as the nicest!
