Evening All,

I'm already a mum to a little boy called Noah.
Really stuck finding names I love as much.

I loved Jacob when I was pregnant with Noah. Was initially set on Jacob as first name. But now have fallen for Hugo, with Jacob as middle name.
Which sounds better?
Noah and Jacob or Noah and Hugo Jacob?

Really struggled with girls name. I think I've fallen for the name Erin.
Please tell me what you think of the name Erin?
Which do you prefer?
Noah and Erin Matilda or Noah and Erin Juliet.

Many thanks.

Noah and Hugo.

I like Jacob but for me the two together is a bit too biblical.

Buttercup54321 · 12/01/2021 20:37

Noah and Hugo.
Reuben?
Erin Juliet.
Esmae?

daisypond · 12/01/2021 20:47

Hugo is very odd alongside Noah. They are very different style of names.
Erin is a bit odd too alongside it - do you have Irish links? I like Matilda and Juliet.

makinganavalon · 12/01/2021 20:47

Noah and Hugo
Noah and Erin Juliet

Agree with pp Noah and Jacob just too Biblical for me

MrsWhistledown · 12/01/2021 20:55

I like Hugo and love Erin.

Erin Juliet is beautiful! Erin Matilda is nice too, both good options Smile

finallychangedmyusername · 12/01/2021 21:04

Erin Juliet and Erin Matilda are both stunning. I marginally prefer Erin Matilda as I think the flow is slightly better.

I'm not a fan of Hugo sorry, but adore Jacob.

grandmasterstitch · 12/01/2021 21:58

I love Hugo. I like Eric with Juliet more

FluffyEggsontoast · 12/01/2021 22:10

Noah and Hugo are perfect together and complement each other perfectly with the "o" sound

FluffyEggsontoast · 12/01/2021 22:11

I love Jacob just as much as Hugo so the deciding factor for me was that Hugo sounds lovely with Noah but Jacob would be fab too

sweetlittlemystery2021 · 12/01/2021 22:24

Thank you all for the really positive feedback so far!
I'm loving the positivity about Noah and Hugo and using Hugo Jacob so I keep both names I adore.

So we've scrapped Erin Matilda.
It's now between Erin Juliet and Erin Olivia (which has just been thrown into the mix, but it rolls off the tongue beautifully!).

I prefer Jacob with Noah - they fit better stylistically to me.

Erin Olivia does flow nicely but I love the name Juliet so Erin Juliet would be my choice.

MercyBodle · 13/01/2021 00:11

Hugo Jacob. Noah and Hugo!

I liked Erin Matilda best, but since that's gone I like the sound of Erin Olivia best.

sleepingfox · 13/01/2021 02:42

I prefer Jacob with Noah, and Erin Olivia from your girl choices.

Ithinkhedidit · 13/01/2021 03:26

I much prefer Jacob to Hugo. I prefer Erin Olivia for a girl, although I'm not really a fan of the name Erin so I'd go for Olivia Erin personally.

alexdgr8 · 13/01/2021 03:52

what does the child's father think. it's his decision too.

sweetlittlemystery2021 · 13/01/2021 08:05

@alexdgr8 Maybe you should be less judgemental? There are women becoming single parents through choice. Women finding themselves as single parents not through choice. Same sex couples having babies. So don't assume father involved!

What about Jack?

Chilldonaldchill · 13/01/2021 10:04

Hugo.

bourbonne · 13/01/2021 10:05

I wouldn't worry too much about flow between first and middle. They will very rarely be said together, and even then it will normally be "Do you, Erin Juliet Smith, take this man..." rather than "Hi, I'm Erin Juliet".

I think of the middle name slot as a good place to tuck a name you really love or find meaningful.

DotDotDotDotDot · 13/01/2021 10:11

Please use Erin if you have a girl, it’s such a lovely name!! Either Juliet or Matilda for middle spot, both flow well in my opinion. Good luck.

ILoveShula · 13/01/2021 12:11

I don't like Erin. It's ok, but a bit nothingy and harsh sounding.

Noah and Hugo are a bit too different but I prefer Hugo to Jacob. Jacob is quite nice but will be Jake.

2pinkginsplease · 13/01/2021 12:14

Noah and Jacob sound good together. Not a fan of Hugo. I find it quite pretentious and know a few dogs called Hugo.

Love Erin, dd was very nearly Erin, either middle name sounds good.

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 13/01/2021 15:19

I think Noah and Jacob sounds perfect but yes very biblical so depends whether you like that or not. I personally do! I also love Hugo an5s it sounds really good too. Sorry, im not much help!

As for Erin, both middle names are lovely but Juliet a bit more fresh and unusual.

ParisJeTAime · 13/01/2021 16:00

I prefer Hugo to Jacob, but think Jacob goes better with Noah. Yes it's biblical, but there's no getting away from the fact that Noah is an obviously biblical name! Probably one of the few biblical figures who most people will know the story of. So it seems a bit odd to be out off Jacob (less well known figure from the bible) because it sounds too holy Smile.

Erin is lovely. I keep hearing it around recently. Is it making a come back? Some friends of friends just had twin girls and named one of them Erin. It's a very cute name.

Pudding01 · 13/01/2021 16:21

I have an Erin and she receives so many compliments about her name ❤ Only ever met one other child Erin too.
Erin has a cousin called Olivia lol I think Erin is a strong classic name and I think a soft middle name just sets the tone nicely. So of your choices I'd go with Juliet or Olivia.

With your boys, I prefer Hugo. But Jacob does sound better with Noah.

All great names 👍
