I’ve read all the books, I’ve scoured the internet I just really don’t like any of them.

Me and dp are trying to conceive and I feel like I need to get a head start on a boys name just incase.

What kind of girls names do you like? Do you think maybe you want a more ‘feminine’ style boys name or a unisex one maybe

MyNameHasBeenTaken · 03/01/2021 13:22

I thought it was the other way round
I had hundreds of solid, strong boys names.
But naming dd took forever.

Boys names seem to be more timeless.
I could look at my family history. Grandfathers, uncles going back loads of generations.
And would be happy to pass on some of their names
Thomas
Alfred
Frederick
George
Paul
Edward

All these are nice names for a new baby boy.

Or I could look at class mates for my dd.

Lucas
Dylan
Jack
James
Noah
Finn
Flynn
Tommy
William
Edward
Oliver
Mikey

Again, plenty of choice.

What "style" do you like for a girl?

SalemsPot22 · 03/01/2021 15:47

If we have a girl she’s going to be Astrid.

Other girls names we like:

Esme
Josephine
Margot
Isobel
Maisy
Emmeline

Tristan?
Nathaniel?
Caleb?
Seth?
Laurence?
Arthur?

Do you watch much tv? Only ask because we couldn't think of a name for dc4 for the life of us & it was getting rather close so we started looking at the credits, it worked!

For Dc5 we had:
Eli
Jude
Seth
Ivor
Alexander
William
Philip (that spelling due to a family member) would have been known as Pip
Dylan

Echobelly · 03/01/2021 15:56

OK, trying to think of some boys' names you might not have seen/though about:

Torin (Irish, I think)
Jethro
Adiel (Hebrew)
Ernest

SalemsPot22 · 03/01/2021 16:01

We already have an Amelie and a Noelle if that’s any help.

@SalemsPot22 same!!! We find out in two weeks what we are having but I'm sure it's a boy! We have a girls name, but I literally like no boys!! We have Tommy after both our grandads but I feel it's a little too "safe" x
