Hi all , it’s still very early days but we are trying to be organised. We are finding girls names much easier than boys !
We like for a girl :
Luna Esmae
Esmae Sienna
Middle names I am happy to switch / change ! But it will be Luna or Esmae. Am a little concerned with the popularity of Esmae now.

For a boy I love Teddy ! However OH doesn’t seem to like any names I suggest but would be happy for me to have Teddy . I just want him to equally love the name we choose ! Open to boy name suggestions .

Luna is pretty and popular at the moment
Esmae did you mean to spell it like that,as opposed to Esme?
I don’t think Luna and esmae are good together, too clunky.
I prefer Luna

Hunt123 · 01/01/2021 15:09

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee ! I agree with you about Luna and Esmae being too much together ! I like Esmae spelt this way and Esme !
I have only just noticed Luna is going up in popularity ! Typical x

Luna is also a very popular dog name at the moment.

What other boys names do you like? It's hard to make suggestions based on one example.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 01/01/2021 15:11

Names get Popular for a reason because they’re nice, inoffensive etc only thing is you might end up in a class of Luna A, Luna B and C
Worth considering if that matters to you

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 01/01/2021 15:12

Dog? Really
Well was not aware of that.

Hunt123 · 01/01/2021 15:14

@Happenchance for a boy I also love :
Isaac
Arlo
Freddie

I don't know any Esmae's and personally I prefer the spelling Esme, pronounced Ez-me but that's probably because all the ones I know use that pronunciation. I only know one young girl with that name, the others are all older.

Could you name a boy Edward and use Teddy as a nickname?

I like Luna, but as a pp had said, it is very popular for animals at the moment! I know several dogs and horses, probably due to Luna Lovegood. It is pretty though.

Love all of these. Particularly Freddie but I may be biased!

Hunt123 · 01/01/2021 15:20

@littlemisslozza Edward is a potential ! OH has a family tradition of the boys middle names being Edward Thomas or Thomas Edward . I just can’t ever see myself calling the baby Edward . However it would look better for the birth certificate .

I have only ever seen Esmae spelt this way but I agree now I’ve seen it as Esme ... it looks much better

@littlemisslozza I am guessing you have a Freddie ? So so cute isn’t it !!

I work in a Nursery though so it’s so hard to think of unusual but nice and not to think of a particular child !!

Will have to work on these name suggestions with OH !! X

Isaac
Arlo
Freddie
Yes they’re all really great names. Like them all

Regards Esmae, phonetically it’s correct for esme eg Ez-may
I have never heard esme pronounced es- me

Hunt123 · 01/01/2021 15:25

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee what about Esme Sienna ?

Yes! He's a teenager now and his name has grown with him from cute to quite cool I guess. I had the same dilemma as a teacher and at the time it wasn't a popular name so I didn't know any!

Good luck choosing.

Hunt123 · 01/01/2021 15:32

@littlemisslozza thank you ! I just can’t wait to find out the sex so we can really knuckle down and find a boys name or pick Esme or Luna as our girls name !

You’re fortunate working in nursery you’ll see name trends
All my kids went to FT nursery 6mth onwards, they flourished with absolutely star staff

babycakes1010 · 01/01/2021 15:40

Sienna Esme sounds better

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 01/01/2021 15:41

Mmm, actually yes, Sienna Esme is better

Happenchance · 01/01/2021 15:42

Names with a similar sound to Esmae/Esme but are less popular: Jessamy, Romy and Tesni

For boys, the first names that came to mind when I saw your list were: Elias, Jago and Sonny

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 01/01/2021 15:45

I like Sienna Esmae

Hunt123 · 01/01/2021 15:48

@babycakes1010 @HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee @ThirdTimeLuckyIHope- I love Sienna Esme ! Will suggest that to OH thank you x

I prefer Esme Sienna or Sienna Esme

Hunt123 · 01/01/2021 16:25

@GinAndTonicOnIt OH prefers Esme as oppose to Luna ! Surname begins with an “E” as well so it’s got a very nice flow to it !

Hunt123 · 01/01/2021 17:03

@Lotsalotsagiggles I absolutely love that ... that is a gorgeous suggestion !!
@Mammyloveswine Elsie is another classic favourite off mine ! Esme and Elsie would be great Twinnies names !! OH is not a fan off Elsie though !
