Do you know anyone with this name and do you think its nice?

Computer game character.
Pics on a quick Google seem to combine over-sexualised female images with violence. Not pleasant.

Either that, or a brand of bathroom fittings. Marginally better, I suppose.

Sorry, I don't mean to be impolite but there are so many thousands of nicer names out there....And you did ask.

SoupDragon · 31/12/2020 15:18

I think it will get mistaken for Flora at a glance.

midnightstar66 · 31/12/2020 15:20

I misread that twice - I clicked thinking it was flora then read Fiona before realising. I'd probably avoid. It looks like a misspelling of one of those names to me

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 31/12/2020 20:10

I'd assume a misspelling of Fiona if I saw it written down, or that I'd misheard Flora if pronounced how I'd expect ("fee- or -rah"?), so I'm not keen personally if you live in the UK. Where is Fiora from?

DramaAlpaca · 31/12/2020 20:14

No. It looks like a mishmash of Flora and Fiona. Like you couldn't decide. It's a shame because it looks quite nice written down, just doesn't sound nice.

And having read what florascotia said would be enough to put me off.

PrivateParty · 01/01/2021 14:08

First I've seen it. Struggling to say it without saying Flora.

KirstenBlest · 01/01/2021 14:19

Flora is much nicer, and so is Fiona.

sleepyhead · 01/01/2021 14:24

Fiore is italian for flower.

june2007 · 01/01/2021 14:25

Looks like a made up name. It,s not terrible ut Flora, fiona, are better.

whatausername · 01/01/2021 14:56

When said aloud it isn't a particularly nice sound. And what FloraScotia2 said has sounded the death knell for me. Heck no. I know there are plenty of mythological names used where the characters have nasty backstories or images but they've a long history behind them spawning many namesakes. Fiora does not. Hyper-sexualised, violent game and male gaze are not what I would want my child to see/hear when looking up her name.
