Being induced shortly and still don't have a name or middle name picked out!! Need some help!!

We like unisex or not too girly names and ideally not too popular. Possibly with a Welsh link, but we live in england, so needs to be very easily pronounced (not too Welsh!). Will also be double barrelled surname, so nothing too long.

I like
Romy
Maddie
Kit
Maggie

Partner likes
Holly
Fern
Joany
Maya
Robyn

Some of these names are already taken by friends / family, but putting them in as they're names we like. We like each other's choices but don't love them 😬 starting to feel the pressure! Suggestions please!!

Rowan (unisex)
Sacha (unisex)
Wren (unisex)
Frances (unisex)

Personally I love Maddie and Robyn from your lists above. Good luck with the induction!

I love Romy!

Arwen / Awen (Not sure which is correct spelling)
Anwen
Branwen

I have no relation to Welsh whatsoever but like you I prefer “non typical girly names” and a lot of my choices are Welsh!

ame88 · 31/12/2020 09:49

I love Maggie!! My partner has vetoed it though! Also love Robyn for a girls name.

MarvEll · 31/12/2020 09:54

@bananaskinsnomnom anwen is also on the list, but taken by a best friend who had a baby a couple of months ago. We don't live near each other so I'm wondering if we might be able to sneak it in!

@ame88 I would love Maggie too... Unfortunately partner has a friend with an overbearing mother and it puts him off. I think it's so lovely and have never met her so I think it could still contend!

@RenegadeMrs do you think Maddie on its own is too nick-namey? That's my main concern about it.
Thanks for the good luck - feeling a bit nervous!

@TeenPlusTwenties I do love Cerys/Carys and they'd initially been favourites. It's silly but I think I've started finding it a weird name for a baby... Even tho obviously we're naming for life and for the most part a grown up 😄
