Thoughts?

DH vitoed Arabella, Gabriella, Mirabella, Sabella and the list goes on. Considering he’s not birthing her, he sure has many opinions!!
I vitoed Isabella due to popularity.

So we both quite like Anabella? Would you hear it and think gross?
Also, Anabella or Annabella?

TIA x

Its lovely. Really pretty.

If you are in the UK, spell it Annabella. I prefer the simple, classic Anna myself, but Annabella is okay (just maybe a but frilly/fussy for me personally). Have you considered Christabel (possible nn Bella?)

Porridgeoat · 30/12/2020 21:08

Just Bella or bell

cremuel · 30/12/2020 21:16

I prefer Annabel or Anna, but Annabella is nice. But definitely spell it with two ‘n’s - it would be very unusual in the UK to have one, and everyone will spell it wrong.

My four year old calls her baby doll Anabella 😍

Bruce2 · 30/12/2020 21:24

We have an Anabelle and wish we'd spelt it Annabel instead - we were young and just chose the version that looked the prettiest written down.

Anabelle is always mis spelt...although I do prefer it to Annabelle when it's written down, it's just easier in long run to be completely honest.

In terms of how it looks written down
Anabella

In terms of living with a name and constantly having to correct the spelling
Annabella

All lovely names. My daughter is Isabella, I absolutely love it despite its popularity.

daisypond · 30/12/2020 21:31

I’d go for Annabel. An(n)abella is a bit flowery for me. Everyone will spell it with two Ns.

NannyR · 30/12/2020 21:37

I love the simplicity and unfrilliness of Annabel. I met a little girl called Dulcibella the other day which I thought was quite pretty and I know an Abriella which is unusual but suits her.

Enidblyton1 · 30/12/2020 21:45

I much prefer Anna. Annabella is a very pretty, flowery kind of name, just not to my taste. I wonder if it would get shortened pretty quickly to Bella? Then she would be indistinguishable from the Isabellas known as Bella.

Nell96 · 30/12/2020 21:45

It's too frilly for me. I really like Annabel though, or Anya.

Firebird83 · 30/12/2020 21:45

Annabella

MsTSwift · 30/12/2020 22:25

Frilly and the misspelt thing would get dull for her pretty fast

Guineapigbridge · 30/12/2020 22:34

maybe just Ara, if you can get away with it ?

Anabella is a great name, though. Classic without being over-used

Ellmau · 31/12/2020 18:12

Annabella is lovely.

sandandso · 31/12/2020 19:04

Looks quite made-up, mixy-matchy. I thought Ana was the Spanish name, but they normally have "Bel" names not "Bella", don't they? Like Isabel. So "Bella" makes me think Italian, but then Ana is wrong and should be Anna.

DramaAlpaca · 31/12/2020 20:24

It needs to be Annabella or the misspellings will drive you nuts.

ItsReallyOnlyMe · 31/12/2020 20:40

Have you thought about Ariella ?

partyatthepalace · 31/12/2020 21:56

Annabella in the UK. Lovely name.
