Bluesername · 30/12/2020 19:46

I like Clara, Felicity, Edward and Joseph.

WhoseThatGirl · 30/12/2020 19:48

Tess for a girl and Edward for a boy

elldog6 · 30/12/2020 19:49

Just one thing to note that you might not have realised with Felicity: it is often shortened to Flick. This might not be an issue for you but can have certain connotations!

motherhubbardscupboards · 30/12/2020 20:45

Hmm didn't think of Flick @elldog6 Fliss isbetter but you can't force nicknames outside of the family home, something to think about. Thanks!

Girls:

  • Clara - ok, quite trendy at the moment
  • Felicity - dislike, lovely meaning but quite horsey. I once knew one who was very annoying and went by the nn 'Fizz'
  • Liberty - nope, a bit much
  • Audrey - quite like, possibly a bit 'old lady'
  • Tess - quite like, not sure about it as a full name though, sounds quite nicknamey

Other names you might like: Ivy, Iris, Verity, Camille, Violet, Audra, Beatrice/ Beatrix, Hazel, Celeste, Florence, Nell, Ada, Polly, Josephine.

Boys:

  • Edward - quite like
  • Joseph - bit dull
  • Fabian - awful
  • Rudy - prefer as a girl's name
  • Guy - maybe - I knew one who was lovely and very handsome!
  • Rupert - ok, I like Roo as a nn
  • Saul - really like the sound, but a bit too biblical for me

How about - Reuben, Rowan, Frederick/ Fred, Louis, Henry, Leonard / Leo, Laurence / Laurie, Joel, Seth, Levi, Rory.

elldog6 · 30/12/2020 22:13

Don't let it put you off though! Felicity itself is a lovely name, as are all the others in my opinion

MercyBodle · 31/12/2020 03:06

Felicity
Audrey
Tess

I love:

FixItUpChappie · 31/12/2020 03:35

Saul and Tess

OldAndWornOut · 31/12/2020 03:39

Clara, Liberty and Guy.
I love Guy, and I don't know any.

CatandBaby · 31/12/2020 08:40

Love Joseph and Tess. Liberty is my guilty pleasure name (I could never use it as that's what George Osborne named his baby 😅).

How about Josephine (Josie) for a girl?

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 31/12/2020 09:21

Girls:
I love Audrey, think it's totally overdue a comeback. Really not keen on Felicity or Clara - makes me think of posh horsey girls.

Boys:
Edward is lovely, really classic. Hard to go wrong.

Fabian, Rupert and Guy - again, too posh for me. They sound like Rugby boys in red trousers.
Saul - really don't like but can't put my finger on why.

All your posts are so helpful, thank you! Please do keep them coming :)

@CatandBaby think it is more of a guilty pleasure for me too! Don't know if I can see us actually using it but the others I definitely could use

I like all of the girls names except Tess. To me Tess is a nickname not a full name.

I like all of the boys names except Fabian which sounds like a girls name to me. Not keen on Rudy either. Probably because round here Rudy is used as a noun by kids. E.g. You’re a Rudy (or sometimes a Rudy Doody) for example if the boys saw your knickers. Meaning you’re rude, basically.

IsabellaMozzarella · 31/12/2020 14:09

Love Tess and Guy

Chilldonaldchill · 31/12/2020 14:42
  • Clara - lovely
  • Felicity - really lovely
  • Liberty - really dislike
  • Audrey - it's ok but I struggle to get past tawdry
  • Tess - stunning
  • Edward - lovely
  • Joseph - nice enough. Bored by Joe.
  • Fabian - lovely
  • Rudy - don't like at all
  • Guy - ok
  • Rupert - gorgeous
  • Saul - ok

I would go for Rupert or Fabian and Tess or Felicity

PlantPotting · 31/12/2020 16:11

Clara Felicity and Audrey are all gorgeous from you girl list
For a boy I love the classic-ness of Edward or Joseph. Guy is ok
