Just hypothetical.

What do you think about the name Seraphina Poppy if we have another girl? Or maybe Seraphina Belle? We also love the name Primrose, she would be a sister to Aurora Violet. This is just hypothetical obviously but I just love names!!

I LOVE Poppy as a first name but it’s wayyy to popular, I already know two.

I love hypothetically choosing names . My husband and I have a 4 month old but still talk about what we would name our next child!
I like Poppy but not sure on your first name choice, but equally it’s your choice of course . What about Sophia/Sofia?

abbie777 · 28/12/2020 16:01

I love Sophia but it’s my sisters name😂 I want something that would match the grand meaning of Aurora, we named her after the Roman Godess so I want a name that’s sort of similar.

Ah fair enough!
I have a friend called Lara and a friend who has a daughter named Luna, they are Roman goddess names as far as I know? Luna Poppy, Lara Poppy?

Love Seraphina (I had a cousin of that name - great woman) - but (sorry to be so blunt) I think Primrose and Poppy are very undistinguished and little girl-y compared to Aurora and Seraphina.

Other names in that space - Diana, Serena, Theodora, Cordelia, Rosaria, Cecilia, Marianne... l mean there are loads of lovely names that are strong and feminine with rich histories.

I prefer the Greek Goddess name Selene (or Selena) to Seraphina (which sounds a little frilly to me). Selene/Selena would work perfectly with Aurora imo - the Greek Goddess of the moon, as the sister to the Roman Goddess of the dawn

What do you think about the name Meadow as a sister to Aurora?

While I know Aurora has some nature links (after the Borealis), Meadow has a hippy vibe that doesn't work competely with Aurora to me (the more frilly Seraphina does fit better - although I still prefer hippy Meadow to your other choices of Primrose, which sounds dowdy to me, or the more cutesy Poppy, sorry).

Depending on your point of view Aurora is either an traditional Disney princess - so works with softer sorts of names like Isabelle, Lily, Clara, Ella etc. Or Aurora could be considered a mythological style name - Freya, Thea, Lara, Iris, Maya etc are popular mythological linked options.

I think Seraphina goes lovely with Aurora. If it was me I would go with Belle as the middle name. I think with a long first name a short middle name is needed plus I love the link of Disney princesses although I know that’s not why you chose the name.

HeadlessGummyBears · 30/12/2020 04:48

Seraphina Belle sounds lovely.

MercyBodle · 30/12/2020 08:24

Seraphina Poppy is delightful and full of character, a lovely (potential) sister for Aurora Violet. So is Meadow. (Meadow Seraphina?)

I'm not so keen on Belle - a rather dull and expected middle compared with your other options.

I love Seraphina it is my "one that got away name" was on our shortlist for dd3 but she didn't feel like a Seraphina.. (she is Aoife)

Also like Meadow
