Guessing game V!

Merry twixmas! Xmas Grin

We have reached thread 5(!) of the baby names Guessing Game.

This was the (brilliant) brain child of @scotstar back in March 2018. Smile

All are welcome, rules of this game are pretty straightforward - someone describes a name. Whoever solves the clues is then in charge of describing the next name. Simple! Make the clues as fiendish or straightforward as you like. Grin

Eva?

Lynette?

Ellmau · 04/12/2021 15:25

Yes! At last!

Lynette.

Housewife and the actress who went to prison relates to the Desperate Housewives character.

Blue Door is the girl in Pamela Brown's Blue Door theatre series of children's books, who is an actress.

Hates green and legendary: Lynette in the story of Gawain and the Green Knight.

Looks like a French diminutive but actually is a form of the Welsh name Luned.

Well done, @2TheMoonNBack. Your turn!

2TheMoonNBack · 04/12/2021 16:38

I'm a bit of a time traveler. You'll find me back in ancient times and also close to the royal family for many generations. I'm in a famous Christmas carol.

finallychangedmyusername · 04/12/2021 19:42

Well done @2TheMoonNBack, Gloria?

OP posts:
2TheMoonNBack · 04/12/2021 20:37

Thanks finally.
No sorry. Keep guessing.

imnotacelebritygetmeoutofhere · 04/12/2021 22:44

Mary?

2TheMoonNBack · 04/12/2021 23:03

No not Mary.

He was also the title of an early 90s race track.

2TheMoonNBack · 04/12/2021 23:03

Rave track!

CassTheFox · 04/12/2021 23:07

Charly

finallychangedmyusername · 05/12/2021 09:14

Arthur?

OP posts:
2TheMoonNBack · 05/12/2021 12:16

No, not Arthur or Charly.

There have been many films, musicals, radio broadcasts and a book about my story. I've been played by everyone from Albert Finney to Sid James and Micheal Caine. I've also been played by a duck and a smurf.

finallychangedmyusername · 05/12/2021 14:41

Ebenezer!

OP posts:
2TheMoonNBack · 05/12/2021 14:58

Yes!

I'm a bit of a time traveler (Ebenezer Scrooge). You'll find me back in ancient times (biblical character) and also close to the royal family for many generations (Ebenezer Blackadder). I'm in a famous Christmas carol (Dickens' A Christmas Carol).

The 90's rave track was Ebenezer Goode by the Shamen.

All those actors played Scrooge in various films.

finallychangedmyusername · 05/12/2021 17:08

Ebenezer is such a famous name! Sadly I think the Scrooge links are too strong for it to be usable. Grin I've now got Ebenezer Goode as an earworm too... Great tune!

Here's another:
Almost caring and happy, in a household of daughters, her ability to store make-up may come in useful (albeit in an unusual storage container!)

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 07/12/2021 18:49

Another clue?

Her name might be hyphenated but isn't modern.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 11/12/2021 13:44

One of her siblings shares a name with a Beatrix Potter character.

OP posts:
2TheMoonNBack · 15/12/2021 18:37

Sorry finally. I'm stumped. 🤦‍♀️

Ellmau · 15/12/2021 19:05

Yes, this one is tough.

finallychangedmyusername · 17/12/2021 00:26

It's a very unusual name, there were only 4 babies named this in the last gov uk baby names dataset. It's a Hebrew name.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 17/12/2021 07:13

Part of her name strongly resembles another name: a name some associate with white entitlement.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 20/12/2021 20:03

Her father was an Old Testament prophet who has a Book named after him.

OP posts:
Ellmau · 20/12/2021 20:23

Kerenhappuch?

finallychangedmyusername · 20/12/2021 21:12

Yes, @Ellmau!

Almost caring and happy - "Keren" sounds a little like "caring" and "Happuch" like "happy"

The biblical Keren-Happuch had two sisters, Jemima (Beatrix Potter character!) and Keziah.

Keren-Happuch means "horn of antimony" in Hebrew > aka make-up stored in a horn. ConfusedGrin

Her name is sometimes hyphenated - sometimes not - Keren-Happuch or Kerenhappuch.

The name associated with white entitlement is Karen. And Keren-Happuch's biblical father is Job.

Over to you once again!
