Does Stanley go with Archie?

First son now 3 is Archie.

Both are family names so would like to honour family members..

Yes, I think so.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 24/12/2020 20:03

It's not my taste, but yes I think it sounds fine with Archie (and it's nice to honour family members, although I personally prefer to do so with middle names).

Oh definitely! They feel like they are of the same period, historically. If you see what I mean. Congratulations on baby no.2 🥳

@tallastrees

Yes I see!! Both our grandads so would love to have but wasn’t sure if they sounded right together

They go well together

sherrystrull · 24/12/2020 21:57

My ds1 has an ie ending to his name so we chose a different ending to ds2's name.

Think Alfie and Leo

Chilldonaldchill · 24/12/2020 22:25

Yes definitely. They sound very much in the same style. I know brothers called Alfie, Ronnie and Stanley which feel similar to Archie to me.

MercyBodle · 25/12/2020 08:00

Yes for sure.

Bluesername · 25/12/2020 08:03

Yes, they make a nice combination.

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 31/12/2020 05:42

They sound great together!

lyinginthegutterstaringatstars · 31/12/2020 07:29

Yes definitely.

theantsgomarchin · 31/12/2020 08:56

Oh yeah they go perfectly together as they're both one of the old names that's come back around. Ive got friends who's grandfathers are Archie and Stanley. It goes with the whole Albie / Arthur trend.

eachtigertires · 01/01/2021 03:44

Yes! I had gerbils names Archie and Stan when I was a kid.
