Classic, simple baby names

Me and my partner are hoping to conceive next year but when discussing baby names (a bit premature, I know), we can’t seem to agree.

I like Clara, Penny, Juliet and Evan, he likes the classic and simple names (Matthew is his fav but I’m just not sold) but he doesn’t like any of those 4 or a bunch of others I’ve mentioned, any suggestions of some we might agree on?

If a boy, middle name will be John

Thanks in advance x

Matthew is classic but less common now so similar choices could be Michael, Christopher, Nicholas, Peter, Philip, Robert, John, David etc, if you like any of those?.

Or if you like Evan, a compromise could be Owen, Adam or Ethan? (slightly more popular or traditional feeling than Evan but similar style). Or middle ground classic names outside the top 20 like James, Samuel, Daniel, Max, Isaac etc.

For girls more classic or simple options that could be to both your tastes might be Julia, Laura, Lara, Lucy, Sara, Amy, Emma, Rose, Anna.
