My daughters name is Raven it may not be unusual now but it was when i named her it 26 years ago some people hated it some loved it.She has got 3 children of her own now Reeva and twin boys Freddie&sonnie.I prefer names that are unusual Raven was going to be called Kash if she was a boy which isnt unusual now but really was way back then.

And your point is ?

@xmasfairybuns i thought someone might like an unusual name for there child so i thought id mention mine. Im not asking anyone for an opinion i thought it was people asking ideas on baby names so i thougt id leave a message.

I love the name Raven. My older children think it is a bit too "hippy ish" though. Plus this next one is likely to be blond so not sure if I could get away with using it!

my nana was very superstitious and when she heard i was calling my baby raven she said to me God i do hope you grow out of that name and hated it lol and thanks for the nice comments guys

@ChrysM thats a good point my daughter has the dark skin tone brown eyes dark hair but even if she was fair skin blue eyes blond hair she still would have been raven and good luck with baby names

My nephew & girlfriend were thinking of calling their DD Raven Stormcrow, they are both pretty gothy (no issue with that, I used to be). For me as a name, it’s right up there with Storm as a bit comic book and pretentious. Apologies OP, I like Granny names so you might very well hate the names of my DDs in return!

It’s not unusual though? 🤷🏻‍♀️

@SJaneS49 lol no each to there own and my granddaughters name is Reeva Iris Evelyn both of her greatgrannys names right there.

@SJaneS49 you made me laugh with the Granny name bit i used to say this to my mam why did she give me a granny name im sarah jane.lol

:-) Sarah Jane too - didn’t associate it with Grannies but did wish my parents had a bit more bloody imagination as every second girl in the playground of my generation as a Sarah Jane or a Sarah Louise

And Reeva, Iris and Evelyn all excellent names!

Reeva is nice, reminds me of Reeva Steenkampf though :-/
